Then again, I often wonder how much any single trainer actually does in a big yard after they get their systems in place.

Then I think about Willie probably watching every horse and having an input all the time.

Then I wonder how I'd benefit from having any clue about either.
I liken it to football. The manager has his systems and methods. The coaches take the sessions. The manager looks over everything.

As mentioned we wre only at the Entry Confirmations stage, just wait until we get into the 48 hour Declarations. Really wish I could sleep for a few days solid and wake up on Tuesday morning. Imagine all of those punters who only back on the day at SP, they have missed out on all of this fun.

          • The Run Wild Fred 'special' that was boosted to 8/1 with PP - was NRNB and has been refunded for me...

            For anyone who was worried/concerned/unsure.

            • What a couple of days this has been.. Does anyone else feel the same way.

At the start of the week I felt as though I had a fairly hefty book in place about the 2021 Cheltenham Festival, with a hard back cover and a few well placed illustrations.

48 hours later and its been reduced to a York Notes guide about general racing (slimline edition) with only a passing reference to a few potential runners at Cheltenham.

I'm just hoping that the Key Notes section remains intact and will be sufficient to pass the tricky exams next week (ideally with flying colours), or will I be found out as having not done sufficient homework.

I blame myself, as it all stems back to when I didn't do enough revision for my A' Levels 42 years ago because I was too busy watching every match of the World Cup in Argentina.

There is always next year. Perhaps I will have to start next Friday night to give me an extra 12 hours more than I had this year.

Was refunded for me too. My energumene "to win at the drf and the arkle" is still an open bet, I doubt that will be refunded?

For me it's not so much the money done, it's the dream killing that gets me.
Sitting on multis with Bob O 33s, Galvin 20s, Monkfish 8s, Shishkin 4s, Billaway 10s plus several others all permed with Thyme Hill is a killer blow, the last 24 hours have been brutal.
Going into the week with several multis ranging up to 5000/1 having a real chance is exciting, so doing my money isn't the issue it's the realisation all of those are now dead....

Not sure what to say Ista, other than I know exactly what you mean.

For the last month I've got into a ritual before bed; check bets, check Betfair markets, check oddschecker....then dream of life changing wins.

I was on the phone to my mate earlier trying to explain its not about the loses - I can easily take it when my opinion is proved wrong, it's the not knowing that really really annoys me.

                          • of all the horses I think energumene was the toughest because he both made a race and you feel could have pushed shiskin to show what he was capable of top end.... just completely deflating seeing such an interesting horse denied with a few days to go
