  • Social media especially Twitter is a cess pit of negativity. But ultimately the choice is yours wether you want to consume all that negative bullshit. Personally I’ve not used twitter at all this year or watched/ read the news for that matter and my outlook on life is immeasurably better than before.

The solution is quite simple, if social media serves you no purpose positively, then ditch it and watch your life, mood and emotions improve over night

Totally Correct, I was fearing for his sanity earlier, I have seen too many take the easy option over far less.

Never felt the need to connect right through the Friends Reunite and all the following crap sites, all my friends are from my street or school after 73 years of ups and downs but we still remain friends.

        • If I was in charge of the IHRA I would fine Elliot half a million Euro’s and given him a suspended 6month ban if he does any more wrong in the next year. The fine money would go to horse racing charities. The BHA would accept this punishment and lift their ban. Elliot will make that back in a few months but hopefully will teach him a lesson. He would then be able to travel to Cheltenham and bring what’s left of his horses.

Unfortunately I’m not in charge of the IHRA, I’m not even in charge of the tv remote in my house so we’ll have to see what happens Friday

You only have to look at facebook to see what people are prepared to post under their full, real name. Yet whistleblowers and minority groups would be disuaded from posting

Ending anonymity is not the answer

Caroline Flack's situation was more newspapers ripping into her rather than ordinary people though wasn't it? They ratcheted up the pressure on her, revelled in her downfall and then tried to play saints and it was all the troll "boogeyman" when it turned tragic

10 Hail Mary's and 10 Our Fathers should suffice.

                    • Cynical hat on again - the Mullins Sporting Life stable tour. With all his horses nuzzling up to him, stroking their chins. That's all very intentional right?

                        Equivalent to a bible stoning.

I thought we were meant to rehabilitate offenders.

I was offended but now more Philip Reynolds. Have done denial anger and (reserved) forgiveness in quick time

I'd argue that trolls/bots/fake news purveyors or whatever you want to call them are a far bigger instigator for causing social media to be a cesspit that people jumping on bandwagons because something has triggered their anger. How do you propose to address that?

we are divided about everything. Never respond to a Twitter troll with numbers in their name is a start.

                            • Not on any social media, and never will be, far to many idiots. Agree with a previous poster, lose his licence for a.period of time, but let someone else from yard have it, a big fine and as many unsolicited visits from the authorities to make sure he is not doing anything wrong in the future. It gives him a chance of redemption, but for some, including myself he will never fully regain his reputation.
