I would argue that moving a horse two weeks before a festival is easier (in the short term) to settle as two weeks worth of feed and continuing two weeks of core work must be simple enough to keep going.

He did say the above though !!
To which I'd say..
NO SHIT SHERLOCK.
Best keep things the same as you can really I reckon.
same hay, same feed, same diet, same carrot, same polo mint,
basically everything the horse eats should be the same.
As same as possible.
Which as some posters have mentioned already, is doable in such a short time period.
I'd imagine over the longer term you'd do it gradually. (Change things from the same to the new same)
Or you could change everything and lose all the horses out of your stable when they've been shit all season.

My opinion, and it’s just my opinion, is that we give the sport far more importance than it really has.
Most of the world won’t have seen the photo, most that have will have raised their eyebrows and forgotten about it as quick as it takes them to scroll through their Twitter feed.
I have already spoken to a politician who is being sent letters of disgust from constituents. How do you imagine that is going to play out when the sport needs friends in high places.

Alternatively let’s just assume it’s just a storm in a tea cup. Let it blow over and get back to embracing the wonderful future that lies ahead.

We can’t take horse racing’s current standing for granted. More needs to be done on animal welfare, on the sport’s integrity, on it’s link with gambling and all that entails. I fully and wholeheartedly agree.
Mistaking one individual’s action and over-exaggerating this to the impending end of a sport is emotive, unwarranted and frankly unhelpful.
