Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Not sure why the race starts are now becoming such a farce in some of the big races?

Frankly it’s an embarrassment and will be again tomorrow if the GN starts the same way as the Topham today

I can’t remember there being such an issue with NH race starts in the past, so what’s happening ? - is it that jockeys now in big races understand the importance of not giving lengths away at the start and getting horses that need to be up towards the front in a race a good start. It’s not just the starter, which I initially thought was the issue, it appears that the jockeys are not doing what they are told, not wanting to lose a position due to the importance of the race start to their horses chances

Interesting that the tape was not lowered in the Topham today - why do they need a tape then?

No apologies for asking what maybe a stupid question - apart from some of the large field handicaps, why doesnt NH operate stalls for starts as per the flat ?

Will she goes Mares Hurdle route next season ?
No, but I’m desperate she heads to the Stayers…

He's won over 400k today, still a fair way off Dan who I think will have brought in close to 100k, so probably 1m behind Dan.

I suspect he will close another 150k tomorrow- even more if El Fab turns over Jonbon. Which to me means you are getting g 6/1 to win the national which is better than market value as we know if he is in striking distance the battalion will coming over to Ayr, Sandown, Carlisle and the rest!
El Fab possibly put an end to that (though Kopek winning would have been an additional 26k), think he closed around 80-100k today. So about 900k to close, Kitzbuhel and the national would be 640k, but Dan has L'eau du Sud and Catch Him Derrh well fancied for some decent pots.

          I don't think it's a stupid question - now.
10+ years ago i wouldve laughed at the idea as completely pointless.
However it's became clear over the recent years that a clear power shift has happened, top races in the past were dominated by horses ridden by British based jocks.
Irish based jockeys were in the minority and lined up where they got the shuffled in to, by the majority, which were british based jocks

This isn't criticism of the irish based jockeys.
it's just an opinion ive formed.
It might be time for some kind of stall start to stop the battle between the jockeys

I followed you in & put her in as many doubles/trebles as made sense immediately after yesterdays run, she’s surely nailed on for the race, given Cullentra’s form of late the performance can be significantly marked up imo.
