Having had friends be in ICU, when they wouldn't update his status, I knew it was very very serious and touch and go if he'd make it. Heartbreaking that he didn't. 24 is no age at all but for to happen doing something he clearly loved and had dedicated himself to, it feels like it carries an extra sting. RIP Michael

Yes echo the thoughts of FJs here today. Michael is a great loss to the racing community but above all to his family. Can only imagine what they are feeling today. So impressive to see how quickly Irish racing cancelled Punchestown and all PtoPs today. Classy. Personally I will always link Marine Nationale with him and hope he gets into the winning enclosure at the Festival. It will be a fitting moment, maybe Michael can help get him over the line from a better place.

This is just such tragic news. The Richie Forristal piece in the Racing Post is a fitting tribute to an evidently very impressive young man. The racing community in Ireland is very tight and they will rally around his family; it's just such an enormous shame. A life taken far too early RIP

In the coming days we all will all quite understandably be excited about how our bets have run but believe me Michael my fellow FJ,'s and myself would willingly chalk up every single one of our ante post bets as a loser if it meant that you could spend one more day with us. RIP Michael such a tragic loss.

Going to be a big afternoon of researching and sifting
The markets will probably reform to include horses not previously included in them.
Plus BFX should move to include all 12 Hcap markets which opens up betting options a bit more, for Win Only, Antepost betting.

As per Weatherbys Digital Racing Calendar
HRI usually publish the dates and conditions too
Some of these Hcaps are lower Graded races, and not all of them make the BHA Jumps Pattern Book published in November - It's a pain that they don't include them all, but they never have, even when there were only 9 hcaps they ignored the Pipe and Kim Muir as lower quality 0-145 Limited Hcaps.Last edited by Saxon Warrior; 17 February 2025, 08:56 AM."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".
