It made me feel better this morning to see them.
Sad but probably stinks of a business that have culled all non fee earning staff, they're certainly a shadow of the business they once were...

When you consider the number of accounts that get closed or restricted when winning regularly.
These new proposals for affordability checks will close this forum.
Surely can't happen.
Like getting a fucking mortgage.

I did the survey about this the other day, Quevega, and sent in back to give my views. It’s one thing to help problem gamblers (all in favour off), but giving private information fior affordability checks is outrageous. It’s like a communist state.

Multiple accounts ?
Never mind what I mentioned previously.
Imagine being closed down when you win and having to apply with all your financial details to lose !!
I fucking stake more than my monthly earnings in a week more often than not.
And if they don't count dividends then I'll be betting with 2p's.

The Racing Post have been all over this in recent days, they know the impact restrictions will have on levy and bookmakers (and therefore their ad revenue income) but the whole debacle is nonsense.
You can literally buy as much booze as you want to kill yourself or rack up mammouth debts from store credit/shopping but losing ?100 a month demands deep financial interrogation, how can that make any sense ?
The way racing is funded will collapse and we could very well find that only a handful of racecourses survive...

It’s has all sorts of implications , it will affect the money to support racing itself. I don’t want to get into a conversation on a racing forum, about non racing matters, but this country is curtailing freedom of thought in so many ways. Comedy is more or less sanctioned now, anything dangerous will no longer get commissioned by terrestrial channels, if you have a view, it will be generally shouted down if not in line with the liberal elite. Just want to make clear I am not talking about anything covid related, just the way this country is going. Rant over!

Completely agree with all above. If there's a petition anywhere, send it to me please. I have 8 days of isolation left that I will dedicate to getting it signed by every person I know.
As Tom says in his article, stating that people's disposable income cannot be sent how they see fit, is nothing to do with affordability, and everything to do with prohibitionism and control.
It started with the reduction on FOBT stakes and also sugar tax, but our civil liberties are genuinely at risk of errosion.
Honestly, I'm not one for hyperbole, just find this shocking, bordering on dangerous.
