Il Est Francais a clear favourite though IMO ... not that it's worth backing this far out
Il Etait Temps is the one I can see coming over here for the prize money

As much as I like my stats, I always think that they need some perspective. In 10 years, the number of boxes at Closutton has increased by about 50% and this is bound to affect 10 year stats. When Willie has horses turning up at Newton Abbot and Bangor, it doesn't seem likely that he will shy away from G1s at other UK tracks as long as he has enough suitable jockeys available.

King George usually a great looking race but has a few slightly questionable looking winners very recently imo. And a couple who would maybe be better known over shorter trips. It's also rarely run on bad ground. So an early slightly left field shout for consideration - Banbridge. 33s best price with PP but not in the market on BEX unfortunately.
I've actually already backed Fastorslow for the race. Who I think it should suit. The french horse and any big Mullins runners targeting it won't be welcome

Yes interesting thoughts regarding GW
Quite tempted by a bit of a swing at Il Est Francais - I suppose I haven't got a price in my head that I thought he'd be.
Also not looked in to his record first time out to gauge whether I'd want to back him before that

I've got him on the list for the Ryanair but in brackets next to his name it says (ignore until the week before)
I've not checked this but I think you'd be surprised at how often the word 'good' has been in the description at Kempton on boxing day over the last 20 years... Rarely gets that testing at Kempton anyway or at least there's very few King George's in my memory that have been.
The ground is a concern with most antepost bets. Turns up on the day on decent ground and he's probably not a 33/1 shot though I guess.

Re Banbridge....am I barking up the wrong tree or did they not say he needs to go LH as well as requiring faster conditions?? IMO he's one of the worst horses to back AP as there's too many 'ifs ' with him. He's definitely an on the day bet for any race he potentially targets.
