I know theres a podcast thread on here, but I can't find it .. the latest Final Furlong Podcast is worth listening to just as Jamie Codd is on it, could listen to him all day............


But f**k me, how annoying is that Emmett Kennedy? Totally childish and so many pathetic attempts at humour .. it's hard to see how he gets such good guests on at times with that personality and also some terrible mis information today ..

I’ve absolutely no issue with him not being the best judge as he’s there to present the show and keep it ticking over, but he spends SO LONG airing his views about horses and form that he ends up taking more time analysing or previewing the races than his guests.

As you rightly point out, he drops a factual clanger into every episode and can never backup or justify his opinions anyway, which is fine as that’s not really his job - but get on with it in that case! His guests are generally great, always keen to hear what Paul Ferguson has to say in particular, but when the host frequently just barks outlandish statements and leaves them hanging like an errant fart it makes it obviously awkward for the guests.

I’ve stopped listening since he spent the entire show monotonously asking David Pipe the same question about every single horse in his stable, and then proceeded to just interrupt Kate Tracey for the rest of the show. In fairness to him, he’s got a fairly big listenership - and I’d hate to imagine the less constructive abuse that gets directed his way on Twitter...

He has great contributors to the podcast, if it was just him it would tank. I've made a habit of skipping on 15 secs everytime he speaks and its only then you realise how much pointless rambling he does. He supposedly was caught red handed buying listeners last year to boost the podcast numbers to get more sponsorship and fame, his then sponsors dropped him and is probably why Kevin Blake left so abruptly. Can't imagine there are many fans in Azerbaijan but thats where the majority of his podcast numbers were coming from.

But it does have the odd nugget if you're willing to put in the effort to listen...
