  • Really sad

That he was a complete nutcase just made me like him even more

That race vs energumene was the best jumps race iv seen in years

He still won races after but I feel he had to go to such a dark place to win that he was never quite the same again

Yet he'd have still won a king george had he not tripped

                  • Hoping that Wonder Woman Lossie will dazzle again and win with her head in her chest today . Could end the day joint fav for the Champion Hurdle and make the Ballyburn decision easier for Willie.

According to FR Galop, they had 36 in 2023 and it says 19 this year (not sure if thats only counting ones that have raced this season?)

No doubt when she shows she is effective over there with her riding style she will pick up plenty of outside rides too

She'll be given a light start to the year like lossiemouth and gala marceau I'd imagine

Can't see her being sent chasing at 4 going on 5 myself

After she pulled the last few times Willie mentioned possibly chasing, it was in the context of the fences maybe helping her settle.

However, she seemed to settle much better yesterday so will be interesting to hear if this has any bearing on what they plan on doing with her next season.

They went chasing with Zenta last year straight out of the juvenile ranks but it only lasted one run.

                            • I'd be surprised if either one of Kargese or Jade de Grugy doesn't try their hand at chasing being the same connections

                              • Chasing was mentioned post-Aintree:
“Kargese has some engine, she pulls so hard. We’re going to have to change a few things about her as if we can get her to settle in a race, she is a real machine I’d say.

“I’d say she’s big enough to go chasing and sometimes those horses settle better over fences.”

Hurdling seemed to be preferred post-Punchestown:
“She is big enough to jump a fence,” said Mullins. “I’d imagine she will stay over hurdles but we’ll have a word with Peter Molony (Alexander’s racing manager) to see what he thinks.”

Draw your own conclusions I think Kargese stays hurdling and have backed as such
