Are Elliott & Mullins easing their work on all their horses currently, and for the next month ‘just in case’ their horses won’t be allowed to travel??

Of course not. The training of all of their horses will be with just one aim - “Cheltenham is live in 11 weeks time and I will be training each and every horse for them to be fit, firing and race ready for the third week in March”.

So whilst the punter in public is currently deliberating (and a few might even be panicking) over whether to ‘cover’ themselves (and potentially putting money down on horses that they actually might not fanc), the trainers are currently training for Cheltenham to be 100% going ahead. They aren’t mitigating.

Surely if the Irish trainers started ‘mitigating’ like a punter might do over the coming weeks, and ‘umming and r’ing’, none of the Irish horses that might come here would be in any way ready for the festival?

If anyone in Ireland really thought that they may have a problem with quarantining their horses, in March, coming to England then surely they will arrange to send them over early and stable/train them in England, including jockeys stable staff as well as horses, if necessary - and quarantine for however many days it takes.

I don't really see the problem as insurmountable while racing continues in both countries.

Its a tried and tested way of the Irish and English horses quarantining for Australia and the Melbourne Cup and its prep races.

Exactly. This conversation/debate has snow balled into giving way too much merit to Irish horses actually not being allowed to travel to cheltenham, when id say it's highly highly likely that they do.

I wonder if there's a list of horses that have been transferred or bought recently from Ireland or France to English trainers that would usually be sent or based in Ireland? It may be that owners have had the nod.

Does bet365 cutting prices on lots of UK horses mean that there is now a chance to cashout for those that want to? For example they are now shortest at 4/6 about Shishkin, has that had a knock on effect to cashout values or are 365 being cuter than that?

My cash out on Shishkin has gone up 10% today.

I can now cash out and back on the exchanges to increase potential winnings by 9%. Unsure what to do though.

Looks like it Muswell. With it looking increasingly likely that we'll be in another national lockdown soon, I'd say its now pretty much out of the question for any crowd to attend.
