    • Tiers starting to drip out. Birmingham in tier 3 so that's me and a few others out. Figures look good for Cheltenham though in my not very expert opinion

      Liverpool in Tier 2 so 2000 to attend for the meeting next week.

      • Government postcode checker shows Cheltenham in Tier 2.

        • No racing or Football for me. Tier 3.

          • Tier 2 for me. Home of the only football club in the country with 2 stadiums and a safety certificate for neither. Quite fancy heading to Ludlow but it'd be nicer if the local populace got the chance to fill these places up.

              Strange how it’s worked out as I’m about 30mins from Bristol and get Tier 2

              • Strange for me as well. 10 minutes from Tier 1 Cornwall, and a short drive to Tier 3. My mrs can finish work, have a pint, then cross the Tamar bridge and be stuck in Tier 2.

                  Even worse than that for me. I'm in tier 3, live 4 minutes away from my mom and dad and they're tier 2

                    i think it's based on the fact Devon has a greater percentage of over 60's (65's?) than Cornwall.

                      Yeah, I understand, plus bigger cities in Devon. I can see why many are frustrated though.

                      • Gutted............

                        Spoke to the owner of the B&B that I stay at in Cheltenham yesterday evening, to update here on the possibility of Annual Member being able to attend Racing next month.

                        For more than 15 years, I’ve stayed at the same B&B for
                        * the 3-Day November meeting
                        * the 2-Day December Meeting
                        * 2 days on the January Trials Day weekend
                        * the 4-Days of the Festival in March.

                        She advised me that Covid had wrecked the business and they have had put the property on the market, & have immediately got a buyer this week who would be buying it to convert back to a family home.

                        So they will be leaving their home and business in the near future, which I am gutted for them.

                        Overall I’ve lived in that B&B for around six-months of my life, watching Racing every day.........I am absolutely numb at the news, and I am so sorry for their family that they are having to move out, and find a new home and jobs.

                          Ahh very sad news for the family and all there regulars like yourself Saxon, i suspect quite a few are in a similar position . I know it will not be the same but Air bnb have plenty of useful places to stay the next village up in Bishops Cleeve should you be able to attend.

                          • I think the point is being missed with regards what Cheltenham are doing here. After 5pm today, approximately an hour and twenty minutes from now, hospitality is on sale to the general public. The ballot to members, whose money they've already got, will only be for any tickets left after that.

                            As a member I expect to go in a ballot before they sell anything to the general public. It's a disgrace.
                            Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

                              Yep, I could see a number of points as I understood it before (I presumed members got first crack at hospitality if they wanted it, effectively jumping the ballot queue), but if that's how its been done then it's dreadful.

                              • Does anyone know a Solicitor who happens to be a member at Cheltenham? I'm spoiling for a fight with them.
