Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

          • The Irish are meant to be ending the travel ban on the 06/01 and implement very strict testing on arrival. This will just be the process in March. Chances are it will be improved and more effective by then. I wouldn’t call this False Hope, I think you’re just being to negative BF

Not a lot has changed to be honest. The term “essential” work still banded about but most who can work from home are anyway. I’m in the below industry and travel all over Scotland.

Construction and manufacturing still all open as normal. The governments are putting it all onto businesses now whether to shut or not which let’s be honest they ain’t going to do.

Schools shut for all of Jan and only allowed to see 1 person outside and not 6 but given its minus minus outside don’t think anyone is bothering with that rule anyway

                  • I've long been of the opinion that (as a non-member of Cheltenham) I won't be able to go to the Festival this year.

My main hope, is that it still goes ahead with the best horses from either side of the Irish Sea (and English Channel) battling it out up the hill.
Second, is that some of you rabble get to go in one way, shape or form.

Whilst the second doesn't look promising, I am still hopeful that we will still get to see 28 (mainly) competitive races.

                    • You can't trust some of those well paid footballers not to feel "entitled" enough not to f#ck up Premier League fixtures, let alone European ones.

They're not happy sitting in their mansions or palatial penthouse flats on their own, without feeling the itch to call out for some hookers, party balloons and a chef.

Again, young fit healthy people don't usually suffer if they contract the virus so, consistent with todays selfish society, why should footballers on half a million a week change their lifestyle ?
The thought of passing it onto to someone who comes into contact with someone who comes into contact with someone who is extremely vulnerable doesn't register to some...

They won't change, so matches will be off.

Just pleased so far that my lot haven't had games cancelled or found out as covidiots.

You only have to look at Celtic up here SW.

Somehow have been allowed by the SFA go to Dubai for a week! Absolute f**king nonsense!

                            • Think the PM has realistically just put an end to any chance of attendance.

Lockdown until at least the last week of Feb and then areas 'will be moved down tiers'. Very unlikely to have people attending sporting events within 3 weeks of that

                              • As predicted, post Xmas National lockdown strikes, till at least the end of Jan. I expect it to go beyond that and even if it doesn't, I expect they'll come out of national lockdown and revert back to tiers 4, and perhaps 3 (which would mean no spectators anyway). Their aim is to vaccinate the top 4 priority groups with the vaccine by mid Feb, but it was crystal clear Boris has little faith in that mid-feb target, you could hear it in his language and he caveated this deadline with emphasis on weekly lags in hospitalisations and weekly lags in giving people the important second boost. Given this government have historically missed every conceivable measurable target throughout this pandemic, I'd be shocked if they hit that target.

At this rate I'd be surprised if owners make Cheltenham, let alone spectators.
