They are hoping to vaccinate up to 2m a week between both jabs.

i think that’s pretty ambitious so scaling down to 1.5m a week, and going off 2 weeks for it to be affective(ambitious side of estimates) that would be 10.5m people vaccinated with immunity pre Festival so 1/6th of the country.

Not sure that will be enough for crowds of any decent size to be allowed in

Zero chance we'll be anywhere close to a decent place in March IMO. They promised millions of vaccines by xmas, it was just over 400,000. They said we'd avoid 3 lockdowns, we're nearing a 4th with a new 5th tier. People should be preparing and accepting a Cheltenham with nobody there. False hope based on nothing does no good to anyone.

Champions league and Europa league will be back before Cheltenham, February I think, so if football teams are allowed to travel around Europe then, that should be our indicator for allowing Irish horses to travel across.

I hope so but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that there’s a travel ban in place. Who knows how the vaccine will react to the different strains and there could be more strains to come....we simply don’t know

With this in mind, going forward do we think it sensible hoovering up prices on English based horses ? Epatante, Shishken, Paisley, Thyme Hill etc. Inevitably if the worse was to happen and the Irish were banned from travelling you may be on some decent doubles, trebles etc. The bookies would have to honour the prices.

Sorta want to do a couple of multis with English based horses only, just in case
