  • Must be a factor that he’s the only market principle to show a high level of form on sound ground? It’s a tick in the box that Z and Q haven’t illustrated yet.

It's possibly also to do with the fact that Tritonic is going to the Truimph whereas Z and Q are seemingly still in play for the Boodles.

        I can't see Z & Q going anywhere but The Triumph.

No sure about Q, looking like boodles, at least that’s one that won’t get stuffed by tritonic!!

I can’t say it any louder doctorwu.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

The acceleration at the end of today’s race was very impressive but Solo did something similar last year in the same race and then bombed in the Triumph and every race since. I do think Tritonic is a better horse than Solo and from his two runs over hurdles this season he has looked at his most impressive during the last 1/4 mile with superb power and acceleration. The concern is that he’s done this on courses that don’t share many similarities with Cheltenham and against average opposition. Like Goshen he may be incredible or average but we’ll only find out if he turns up on March 19th and stays upright until the end of the race

Was it acceleration? Be interesting to see sectionals but looked to me like the 2nd horse just fell in a hole & stopped whilst he kept on. Obviously stamina is no bad trait, but there’s obviously a critical difference too

                  • No pro sectionals here but from the back of the 2nd last to the line the 2m hurdles races were the same.
From back of the last to the line Tritonic was 0.5seconds quicker getting 4lbs
                    overall race times very smilar
The bumper also very similar from where 2out and 1out wouldve been.

Were all the races won by good animals or did Tritonic beat rubbish by a distance?

A bit of both tbh, certainly wasn't slowing towards the end and did most of his best work late so i can see why folk are more excited about him at Chelt on a stiffer course.

I'd be going with the latter personally, depends how highly you rate those in that supreme trial i guess. I wouldn't think any of them would be troubling hcaps off 140 at2m(who knows with Cape G over further) and whilst running to around that is good for a juveniles it's not 7/2 good when we appear to have a couple in the mid140s already and potentially one nudging 150.
I go for when the horse is at the hurdle not the leader of the race at the time if you are wondering why my 2 out time is different to yours.

                      • Tritonic just makes the price for the Irish.

In my opinion, I'd be amazed to see Tritonic get even close to winning this race. Like, he might 'place' but won't look like winning.

I genuinely believe Gordon has more than one horse than could have spread eagled the Adonis field today.... so getting wet over an Alan king horse is ill-advised.

If he hasn't got a better horse than Tritonic, I'll lose money on this race. (Probably...)

Personally think a trainer thats got a fair record in the race as A King has should have a bit more respect, he knows how to train juveniles. Not many have had more winners than him.
I hope and think time will tell that your post is not really accurate.

Actually, would be better if i say...........time will tell that your opinion here will prove not really accurate.

I'm hoping kev is wrong on this one as well, as i took the 33/1 boosted to 36.75/1 to win his first race and triumph double.

                            • If you check my diary you'll see I have him at 33s too ... my point is getting excited by him is ill advised as I think Gordon has this division by the balls this season.

You can take offense on behalf of Alan King if you like, but I could slip Willie Mullins name in and I'd feel the same this season.

Getting wet over any juvenile horse not trained by Gordon Elliott, this season, is I'll advised ... imo.

Doesn't even mean they can't win, just don't think anyone should get excited

A far more eloquent riposte than my fare but essentially the same.
