If we're running lines of form through these contenders Teahupoo has to be at the top of the list with a line through Autumn Evening. im also not having it that Youmdor would have beaten him had he not tipped over. It would have been very close judging by how well Teahupoo ran to the line. Im happy with Zan & this thing. imho.

‘He’s probably more of a stayer next year than a two-miler. I loved the way he put his head out and galloped from the last to the line’
I read that as talking more about his longer term future than where he may end up this season. Clearly he is half decent over 2 miles and would not see anything in that quote which suggests he may be saved for next season.

Putting our own individual spin on other peoples words is ok when making decisions on our own bets but less so when giving advice to others imo. On another example earlier on a different thread, I think it was Spectre that asked for the precise wording from Venetia Williams concerning Royal Pagaille and the GC being his likely destination and I am not sure that has materialised yet (apologies if it has since I last looked) I 100% support Spectres stance on this. All of us have a responsibility to distinguish fact from interpretation particularly when quoting or referencing connections.

I agree with the sentiment, however, we are all responsible for our own bets. If you take someone on here at face value, that's your (our/anyones) decision, in the same way it is taking Kevin Blake, or Mick Fitz, or Ruby, or Willie, or any tipster on face value etc.
You learn to know who states facts, who creates their own facts, and who twists both
It's why I'm an absolute dick when people state opinions as facts, adding IMO every now and again just helps us keep that balance so we don't get in difficult situations.... you'd hope it wouldn't be needed, but we still have to put "do not drink" on bleach bottles, so whilst that's the extreme, that's why I am always banging on about that

I agree Kev. What you say is correct. Buyer beware and all that.
The thing that pisses me off in the instance quoted above, was I asked for where it was quoted and my question was completely ignored. It would have been a simple courtesy to say where the quote was, or to confirm it was a guess or an opinion that was just badly worded. It would also have saved me from a complete trawl of every form of racing media out there.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

For all -- Give as much detail as possible when using quotes (including source and a link to it where possible)
- If you're giving an opinion about facts, please make sure it's clear that it is your interpretation or opinion.
