Not that I had any doubts but glad he has put it to bed.

      Stupid idea anyway

Surely there is no way the British handicapper allows a grade 1 winner last time into a handicap?

        • Really looking forward to seeing tritonic again

Better flat horse than zanahiyr hoping to see a big step forward

"I was obviously very pleased with him, he was only just ready to start back on Saturday as he was gelded and had a proper break at the end of the Flat season," said King

"I'd like to think there's a lot of improvement to come from him. There'll have to be, but I do think there is.

"He's been to the big handicaps on the Flat so that will stand him in good stead and he'll be a lot sharper for the run."

and it sounds like that is very possible

Davy had said he was meant to ride Zanahiyr so I reckon Jack K will go for him. Keith Donoghue for Quillixios perhaps (if there's no Duffle Coat).

Mark Walshe or Rachel Blackmore have no obvious rides from what I see of the entries so far.

Denis O’Regan has ridden quil before so he may get the job.

                • Willie will prob get first choice of Rachel though if no HDB runners given she is riding there quite a bit and Willie could have a few in there still.

Keith D might get Qulixios as there doesn't seem to be douth Jack will be on Zanahiyr. Was strange Davy had basically said he would ride Zanahiyr on the FF as if he was on a promise but after Lep Gordon said Jack had the pick of his runners in the race.

Massive festival for Jack isn't it now.

                    Some proper, proper pressure rides.

I think he'll take to it.... I think it won't be long until we're considering him a notch above.

Same here, i backed him to win the ascot race/triumph hurdle double, 33/1 boosted to 36.75/1 with hills.

He’s ice cold isn’t he! If there’s one who’ll cope with pressure I think it’s him. Really looking forward to him riding the biggies. I don’t think it’s a step down at all. It does make me worry a little for the ones that Jack might otherwise have been on.

A chance for him to properly establish himself as Gordon's number one

Yeah, the drop off between Davy to Jack (or vica versa) is nowhere near as big as Jack to Keith?

I think as long as Davy is riding they won't cast him out in to the cold, but JK is already number 1 isn't he?

Haha yeah that has been a bit strange.

I'd trust Davy on anything in a big race.

I'm not far off feeling that with Jack though....

It's very much recency bias though...... 2 years ago Robbie Power couldn't have been more flavour of the month, this season, people see him on a horse as a genuine negative.

Then again, some morons (yeah, I said it!) on here crabbed Barry Geraghty, and he embarassed them so badly at the festival that I don't even thing they're still here ..... so it's nothing new.

I wouldn't have been Paul Townend's biggest fan (in terms of him not being superior to the rest compared to Ruby)..... if he bangs in 5 winners, I wonder if I'll feel the same
