As a 99 rated flat horse who is best at about 1 1/2 miles he would be perfect as long as he can hurdle well. In pretty good hands with Alan King and it is noted 20/10 that the poor bugger has been gelded. 33/1 with PP and B365. No entries yet. I would be willing to take a chance when I saw an entry

I took an interest in him during the flat season and was in contact with the McNeil family on Twitter who said that he wouldn’t go hurdling and they wanted to keep him on the flat. It’d be interesting to know why they made this U turn. I had him backed and everything but cashed out when they told me he wouldn’t lol

"Tritonic will be trained for one of the better juvenile races in the early spring. If all goes well he will be aimed at the Grade 1s if not he will return to the flat before novice hurdling next season."

On Sunday its a useless guide to predict one set of horses over the other IMHO.
Zanahiyr's Racing Post Topspeed Rating is 112, nothing staggering, the other races have very poor/slow Topspeeds.
As an example Quilixios bolted in, hard held, on his Irish debut with a Topspeed of 108 in a 7-grand race, not a Grade 3.
A Topspeed of 112 was good enough for 7th or 8th in March's Triumph Hurdle, FFS."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

Yeah when you start comparing races that are not true run it becomes difficult as lots of guess work tbh, the Rpr & TS are questionable at times and i say that as someone who does refer to them. I have spotted a few quicker times in lower hcaps especially on the flat get awarded paltry rpr in comparisons of what they have beaten despite being a better performance but races can be tactical as we know.
I get the main jist of what he is saying that to run a decent pace and still be the quickest finisher(bar Ballyadam) it is a smart effort but Aspire tower did similar last year as did Allmankind(his chepstow win especially) tricky these juveniles i always find.

However he then doesnt put that into context with any other race, except the ones on that day. That is where it falls down.
I do read his columns, but only take notice of his summary if the horses he is championing have actually put up a decent time compared to their peers and what they might actually have to achieve in a championship race."Journeys to Glory, breathing in his head".

The Class 1 handicap 2m hurdle later on the card is also worth putting Zanahiry time into context, overall he ran the quickest 2m time of the day.
Performance using the opposition is key but time that backs it up is another factor.
When Peace and Co won on his hurdle debut at Doncaster it was the fastest time that day over the 16.5f trip which shot him to favouriitism, I think if Zanahiry backs up Sundays performance he would go off very skinny come the Triumph, lets hope he out performs the last skinny one Apples Shakira.

Feel like we’ve got someone manning a specialist subject so the rest of us needn’t worry too much in these early months about entires and the like because, anything important, Kotkijet would’ve inevitably spoken about that horse somewhere.
Now we need someone who will be dedicated to the cross country, someone else for the Hunters scene and one more to sort out the bumper horse wheat from the chaff.
