Elliott yesterday after Zanahyir won his maiden.

What the Fuck does that mean ?

Anyway, I thought he looked useful - but who knows at this stage.
I'd like to think the front 2 who finished are quite smart types, but we'll see as the season progresses.
Does he mean he's going to be a good horse in the future, not just this year?

    • One I am hoping may turn into an Triumph contender tomorrow is Mica Malpic who is available at 33/1 currently
Trained by Cottin and recently purchased by JP.
Really striking & impressive debut winning by 9L back in june , gives away a bit of weight tomorrow but hopefully he can win.

I'm not sure how reliable the French juvenile form is this season. Was looking through a fair bit of it over the weekend and majority of them are beating each other, which either means they're all good and it's a minefield to decide who wins on what day or they're all a bit average and they'll each win on their day. Either way, it doesn't make things easy.

I backed Quilixios & Paros early enough, otherwise I probably would have just kept my powder dry after looking into it all a bit more.

There are a couple of unbeaten ones in there still, Monmiral with Nicholls, though the way he spoke about him he'd be a chaser in the making, as opposed to a Triumph horse, and seemingly keener on Hell Red at this moment, whom Monmiral beat in France. Then you've got a couple that probably won't even come over, in Busselton & Obeone, who both remain unbeaten, but only had the one start, so hardly a telling sign. The best of the rest have all beaten each other at one point or another along the season, as noted previously.

        • Had a message today from a mate who knows someone connected to the GE yard. It said 'Zanahiyr a nice horse, needs a slight wind op' but he has backed it at 33s for the Triumph. He went on to say If the ground was very soft/heavy then Quilixios would be hard to beat. Denis O'Regan also backed this up by calling him a Monster.

Just passing on so take it as you will folks.

          • I've added Tritonic at 33s with the cash out option. He is 99 rated on the flat and has been running really well this summer. He's not guaranteed to be going over hurdles but I'd be hopeful as he is part owned by the McNeil Family and I think Alan King does like to have runners in this race.

            3 c Sea The Moon - Selenography
            McNeill Family and Ian Dale
            5-22624 (Flat)
            RPR 106f OR 99f
He's high-class and has run some marvellous races this Flat season, finishing second at Royal Ascot and in a Listed race. He'll be gelded and given a break and then may school in January. He could make his debut in something like the Adonis Hurdle or go back down the Flat route and wait for jumping next season.

            • Would be appreciated if someone could get Busselton priced up for this race with Bet365. Won in France and apparently working very well for JOB

                • Hacker des Places has an entry at Wincanton for Sunday. Currently 50/1 but represents the form of Paros

Busselton is currently 40/1 with Hills although if there is a specific reason one prefers b365, that's out of my remit...

Don't worry about it. While most will have upwards of twenty festival races at the back of their minds, I essentially have one!

Do you know much of Horn Cape? I believe he's moved to UK or Ireland but I can't find any information. He was previously owned by ML Bloodstock. He's from the last batch of Fame And Glory progeny and I'm a big fan of the sire.

He's been purchased by JP McManus but while it is not clear where he will be trained, France Galop says he's been exported to the UK.

As for the horse himself, this is him winning at Argentan over 2500 metres on very soft ground.

None of those in behind have won since but the second and third were both third next time in similar contests. Former trainer Erwen Grall hasn't been the source of any juveniles so we can't gauge his record as a source.

Fame And Glory has yet to have a winning juvenile in the UK or Ireland but in France, he has recent Auteuil winner Haie d'Honneur and Gardons le Sourire who won the Prix Ferdinand Dufaire (G1 4yo Chase) back in June. Al Namix has yet to be tested as a damsire but is a useful sire and the damline has a hatful of black type horses with Fine Brunello (3/3) and Lou du Moulin Mas (4/3) being the most familiar on these shores. Closer by, the dam is a half-sister to Micky Hammond's Ex S'Elance.

All things considered, while he could well be a nice horse, he looks more one for the future rather than an obvious juvenile hurdler.

Haha, we could do with 27 clones and assign them to each race.

                            26 actually, **** the Ryanair.

This made me chuckle more than it should have.
