He was 33/1 when I assessed him on the 1st of October here. That a Mullins horse has been allowed to drift is rather unusual. I know that my assessment was fairly lukewarm but I doubt any oddsmakers would even know of my ramblings...

A place to discuss the National Hunt Season. Share your thoughts and tips on the Grand National, King George as well as the major racing festivals like Punchestown and the Dublin Racing Festival!
I see him winning although there isn't any rain at the moment so if the ground dries then that makes Scholastic a little more dangerous. I quite liked the look of Battle Of Benburb though he is on the drift at the moment - whether or not that is a good thing would not be for me to say.Last edited by Kotkijet; 13 October 2020, 12:55 PM. Previewed the race here but I can see it's buried beneath the Chepstow review...

Appreciate it
Last time I had a properly exciting ticket was when I had something like 400odd/1 on King Johns Castle in the Grand National... Win only. Had a face like a slapped arse for a week after that and have been shy about ante-post ever since. Sure the highs were nice but the lows often ruined the sport for me so on balance, it's better for me to be boring

I don't have the runner up as anything better than a 109 horse and thought she ran rather flat. Quilixios did it well and it is difficult to crab the one performance but he did lack the enthusiasm and aptitude of Hell Red and I would not have the former ahead of the latter at this stage.
