Get the feeling Aura is ready for this, so as long as it’s not a slog, which looks unlikely, the distance shouldn’t be an issue. Stayed the trip as a 6 year old at Cheltenham so don’t see any worries now he’s 8. Had a wind op over the summer and the bleed in the Ryanair was purely the pace Allaho went so I’d be confident that won’t be an issue either. Next Destination looks to have a decent chance too, as someone mentioned Nicholls is flying. You know he’ll have him ready for this too.
Got Aura in a double with Eklat De Rire - really think he's a massive dark horse in the Gold Cup at 50/1 and debating how hard to play him before this race. I'd love him to win, but only one horse is going to be trained to the second for this race and that's Bristol De Mai - is it smart to go against that for this specific race even though the others would probably beat him most other days?

    • APT is making the market for me as I don't want to back him first time out at those odds.

It's BDM, RP and Imperial Aura on my shortlist but I'm edging towards Imperial Aura at the moment.

The Pig won't run will he ? unless they get a lot of rain. He needs the mud flying. He won't be risked on G/S after going lame in GC on similar ground.

The betting would suggest he's a doubt although I haven't seen that written anywhere.

I think he'd be fine on good to soft ground at Haydock but can understand VW not wanting to risk him.

          • Spike Jones is going to win the first at Ffos Las today so I've rolled in doubles with Buzz (stayers), Kilcruit (ballymore) and Appreciate It (arkle)

6/1 from 3/1 365 is worrying but you did me a solid last time so I'll see if I can get Pink In The Park onside as well. Good luck.

Big shout Charlie, had a good word about him?

It's certainly not a big shout from me. Very small stake doubles is all I've done - that type of race is not one I'd bet on, ever. But yeh, good word. The market drift doesn't really concern me, maybe it should.

                    • I’ve used Edwardstone today with Buzz in Stayers.
Evs is a nice price about a quality horse who would have hacked up last time and I mentioned a while back I want to start pressing Buzz as the main Stayers challengers look to fall away/disappoint…

Looked like he was coming to win turning in but his jumping fell to pieces in the straight

Yeah he was there to give a good performance, that's all I'm bothered about. That said... Down to 79 losers before I start saying you're a poor tipster - got itchy feet yet?!

Kim seems fairly happy with him and I think he’s confident, given he said he expects him to win a grade 1 at some point. Whether it’s this weekend or the another assignment we shall see.
