  • May well have been mentioned already but is it possible to combine a festival roll up and a related double?

Idea being that you back a horse at short odds and if it wins, it consequently boosts the form of a different horse for a Cheltenham race and you already include that in a double.

One example could be Third Time Lucki running at short odds tomorrow and combine that with either Appreciate It or Ferny Hollow. (Could even do these in the example in a treble if you have a crystal ball and can correctly assess targets for both AI and FH...)

Possibly not the best time of year to utilise these at the moment given these are first races back and horses might not be fit/not the most competitive races.

I prefer these when the result determines where another horse will go...

If one horse beats another horse, it means the beaten horse 'definitely' goes elsewhere....

Third Time Lucki winning tomorrow, for me, has no impact on Appreciate It or Ferny Hollow.

      • Does anyone have an opinion on the IPL today? or is it a case of waiting for the toss and backing the team who bats first

Abu Dhabi, slow deck and biggest boundaries over there.
But, we're entering fixed season, yesterdays game proved the IPL hierarchy continue to dictate when games should be thrown to ensure competitive games later in the competition, I mean you have the greatest T20 batsmen in the games history and you send him at 6 after 17 overs.
So be wary of bent games, thankfully that doesn't apply today, hoping Kolkata win toss bat and Bumrah, Boult and co keep them to 160/165 which is defendable but there's always the Pollard factor...

          • If I had to pick the likely winner I'd be going for Mumbai, Narine is probably not going to play (apparently reported for an illegal action) plus Mumbai have a very good record against KKR.

That said, Mumbai are plenty short enough and I wouldn't recommend them for a roll up at 8/13. Especially given what Ista said about teams... lets say getting imaginative, plus the change of captain may give KKR a boost.

KKR won the toss and are batting so going in on them

...ha, ha. I did Lord North with Ballyadam for the Supreme last night. Also, paired Ballyadam with Even So & Cape Byron. Fingers crossed.

                  • Was looking at Magical for a couple of roll ups (Ferny in Supreme / Ballymore and Abacadabras) - given my usual record on the flat that’s probably another positive for Lord North though! Also tempted by Stradivarius.

You must really, really fancy his chances today then!

I'll cheer if he wins for you - unless he chins Pyledriver or Japan of course.
