Although there’s two days left in the test match, the weather forecast looks atrocious at Old Trafford for both Saturday and Sunday. 11/10 looks generous for the draw - disclaimer I took 15/8 during the England innings, but 11/10 still looks a very nice price and I will use again…
It's very possible there will be no play at all after today looking at the radar
The draw should be 1/2 at best
Shame really as we've absolutely hammered the aussies all match and the weather is going to probably rob us of the series being 2-2 and a huge final match
Edit - now 11/8 after the Steve Smith wicket - gone in again.
FinalFurlong91 I agree - huge cricket fan, and such a shame - personally I would have declared an hour after tea yesterday instead of batting on - 4 sessions to take wickets instead of blindly batting on...

We'd have needed to score the runs anyway as declaring then we'd have been chasing on a deteriorating pitch and had the rain not come it would've looked foolish giving up the advantage we'd built

I agree. Stokes got it right. We were scoring quick runs and batting well. We'll need most of those 270 odd to win the game. Maybe he could've declared two overs earlier, but that's it. As you say, no point in declaring with a lead of 120 just to have to bat again. Also, psychologically, it good to have the runs on the board now. Makes the Aussies feel they really are out of the game.
The one thing I would consider is that all are basing their forecasts on BBC or the Met Office. Both predicted significant spells of rain today. In reality, we lost 13 minutes and gained them back.
The most accurate rain forecaster is Accuweather. They show a 4hr spell of cloud tomorrow from Midday. If we could get a couple of hours play in then (maybe an off on affair) in gloomy light, that could be massive. Accuweather also showing a patchy morning and decent enough afternoon Sunday.
Whilst I favour the draw, a win is not out of the question.

I always look at the radar on the BBC website myself gives a good idea
They will often put up rain symbols all day but then you look at the radar and its isolated showers thst can easily miss where you are going
For both today and tomorrow it showed huge weather fronts sweeping across the country
And the same for tomorrow with there possibly being a gap late afternoon but by Sunday afternoon the outfield will unfortunately be completely saturated and by the time theyve got the outfield fit for play (could take hours) it'll be too late or the rain will sweep over again
Shame really as its going to ruin a brilliant comeback in the series barring a miracle

Small improvement in todays forecast, could be a couple of dry hours from midday and late this evening showers could miss, though by that stage as you have said the ground is likely to take too long to be playable.
It's gone from being a complete washout to there being a chance of 30-35 overs, which of course is still unlikely to be enough, tomorrows forecast continues to get worse...

The radar says not a hope from what I'm looking at
Real shame as the aussies are being knocked down another peg in this match
They were full of themselves after the bairstow incident
Tomorrow late afternoon looks our only hope from what im looking at
Can anyone explain why they didn’t cover the outfield as well.
They very rarely do in this country mate. We rely on supposed superior drainage. Asian country’s do cover the outfield, mainly because of the monsoon style rain they get onto a rock hard surface.

It’ll be such a shame if there’s a break in the rain today or tomorrow and we get no play/severely limited play because of soggy areas on the outfield - a problem covers could presumably prevent.
And this deluge has been forecast for several days - they’ve had time to get in the best possible shape to optimise playing time.
Hope it doesn’t come down to that - but the people in charge will get such a kicking if it does.
