  • I've got Zambella as a horse who just wins today, albeit the price is nothing special now at 8/11

She's primed for the race as her Gold Cup, looked excellent on debut and handles good or soft ground equally. She's run to an RPR better than her closest challenger's (Pink Legend) peak 6 times in the last two seasons and is a year younger than her. She won the race last year and looked as good as ever on her reappearance. She should win again so I've doubled her with Did I Ask You That to enjoy a boost on the 33s on offer, and doubled her with Geskille on the day.

    • Didn't realize Annie Mc was still around!! She's been my festival cliff horse specifically in the Mares Chase. Followed her since she was 2nd to Honeysuckle in her PTP. Loads of ability but difficult to keep sound. Can see her winning today but will she make the Fez ?

              • 16/1 is a ridiculous price about Clan Legend in the 1400 Haydock tomorrow.

He's a horse who needs ground that is soft or heavy (0-7 on GS or faster and trainer quotes from 6 of his wins stated his love for soft or heavy ground). He won this race 5 years ago and has since won several races at around 2m4f on soft or heavy ground, including a big 2m4f handicap at Aintree twice. His December form is 6 wins from 9 races, 1 of those defeats came on GS ground this year in that Aintree handicap, another was over 2m7f (he doesn't stay that far (0-4 over 2m7f+). He's dropped to a mark of 128 now.but the only time he hasn't run to an RPR in excess of that over his last 9 runs was last time out (on good to soft ground).

Gutted I missed the 20/1 earlier, but he must have a massive ew chance here. Obviously there's a wealth warning with horses this price but I really like his chances.

Great shout. It looks like the price is an over-reaction to the last run on unsuitable ground. It would have been difficult for them not to run last time after winning the same race in 2020 and 2021. I may be biased towards a fellow Scot, but I think Nick Alexander is a decent trainer and a nice bloke. It was sad that Lucy had to retire, but grand that she seems to have recovered from a horrible incident.

Unfortunately the super boost was single only, but handy Christmas bonus.

                        • robith Morley Street Smith v MVG final. Believe you were both backing the former, apologies if I've missed anyone else...

Should be a cracker. MVG looks unbeatable at the moment though, which I need him to be again tomorrow night

It’s been a cracking tournament mate hasn’t it and yeah MVG has looked awesome… had a name the finalists bet on the pair too, as well as Smith to win his quarter, so sitting pretty and gonna sit back and enjoy the final, hope it’s a good ‘un and that Smithy gives him a game

                            • My darts punting far outstrips my horses over Christmas in terms of success rate!

But think my run ends tomorrow. Smith will do well to take a set the way MVG is playing. Thinking the 7-2 score is the play and MVG most 180s and biggest finish too

MVG doesn't hit as many 180s as he could.. he does spice them up with a 177 or that, even at the start of a leg.. I found this out the hard way in his round of 16 game and just stopped backing him on 180s as it was so frustrating seeing him hit 170+ repeatedly
I would rather be on MVG at 7/4 than Smith at 8/15 for most 180s but you could be in for a frustrating evening if MVG comes away from triple 20 after hitting it with his first 2 darts
