  • 888 have a bet £50 each week (bets placed and settled within Mon-Sun, started 12 Feb) for three weeks to get a £10 free bet for each of Tue-Thu of the festival. Complete three weeks to get a fourth £10 free bet for the Friday.

Should be relatively easy to earn using matched betting techniques if there's nothing you fancy during the relevant periods.

Do the weekly qualification bets have to be settled in that week you place them?

Yes, bets placed and settled within Mon-Sun.

They'd restrict you before the Festival starts! One of the worst for quickly restricting accounts imo.

Ok, don't do the offer then. What you describe is not my experience. In fact given the combination of offers (on a range of sports), price and when they went NRNB, I'd say they have been one of the best outfits over the past year.

Another who can not bother with this particular offer then! Your experience is yours, but it's not everyone's. I have a 38% ROI from 800+ bets placed over a ~6 year period with this bookmaker, and am not restricted.

I think the purpose/ benefit of this thread is somewhat defeated if when someone posts an offer, this is met with a series of anecdotal tales from individuals who happen to have been restricted by that particular bookmaker. So what? All bookmakers restrict some punters. We all know that and we all deal with it in our own way. It doesn't make an offer less relevant or valid; good luck finding offers exclusively from bookies who have never restricted a single customer!

Congratulations on your 38% ROI from 800+ bets placed over a ~6 year period.

I’m not sure what bearing this anecdotal tale has on 888’s overall reputation? It doesn’t make the offer highlighted more relevant either, but thanks for your feedback.

                  Have a great festival.

                  • The point of the thread is to highlight offers, if you can't use it just go back to the main page and click on another thread.

Plenty of offers highlighted for bookies people will be restricted with but useful to others. This is supposed to be a thread to help people get more for their money no need to tit for tat from either side of the coin.

The relevance is that it serves as a more meaningful counter-example to your "They restricted me wivvin 10 bets. Two bob." But then either you already realise that and are just continuing to be obtuse, or I am probably wasting my time trying to explain this to someone who didn't already understand the relevance.

I just don't understand the point of coming onto a thread, the purpose of which is to share offers to try to help people, and then sniping at someone who is sharing an offer to try to help people.

I will have a great festival. I'm not going to issue insincere well-wishes, and I'm not going to engage with you any further.

I understand your thought process and also the sentiment Hurricane fly mentioned.
And mentioning the offer and how it can be best used is really helpful.

But the initial comment by young hustler was trying to be helpful also - I think ? and Garrison was simply backing this up, adding credence and a further note for caution.

Helpful in the sense that this offer seems specifically over a time period - so the danger or likelihood of getting restricted may hinder the "Plan" and ultimately mean you get no benefit.
Of all the indicators that the bookies use for restricting accounts - New accounts ranks pretty high on the list. And you'd have three weeks to make a name for yourself or not.

I'd imagine this would be a rarity (and if you got restricted you'd probably have won anyway) but is probably fair for others to warn people based on their own experiences I reckon, although maybe could have been put across differently, but we all make mistakes with that from time to time don't we ?

                          Buyer Beware and all that.

I hope you both have a great festival, but as is standard, hopefully not as good as me

Thanks for the balanced and considered comment.

I don't disagree with the 'buyer beware' notion, indeed amongst all the (excellent) opinions shared on here there's surely a baseline understanding; that ultimately we each make and are responsible for our own decisions based on our personal risk appetite and judgement of risk vs. reward.

My point in response to the 'challenge' my post received was that I don't see much value in individual posts about the offers shared on this thread being challenged with what are, to me, no more than personal accounts of experiencing what is standard, industry-wide practice. These accounts may well we true, there's no reason to suggest otherwise. But I don't think they add any value in the context of a place to share offers. Do we really want to hear from everyone who has been restricted by Betfair every free multiple weekend? Or everyone who has been restricted by Will Hill every odds boost week? I don't think so?! And thankfully, we don't. But for whatever reason my post seems to have drawn more than the normal level of challenge, and in one case someone is then returning to challenge my explaining 'why' I have posted a bookmaker offer on the bookmaker offers thread!

I posted about the bookmaker I did because they aren't mentioned as often here and also because actually, my experience with them has been better than with most. I offered some metrics to contextualise this; it was not intended to be any form of after-timing, so if that's how it came across then oh dear. It's really just a sample of my activity and supports my perspective of why I think it is worth a) using that bookie and b) sharing their offer. So for those who haven't used them, they may wish to consider this. For those who use them less, they also may wish to dust off their account and take advantage of the offer. Obviously nobody has to. Buyer beware.

I'm not one of the elders or great contributors of this forum; I am trying this year to be more involved and this felt at the outset like an uncontroversial way of doing so, and in a small way, doing my bit. Buyer beware!

                              Absolutely valid points Evesham.
Keep up the contributions, everyone's thoughts and ideas are always welcome, even if challenged, when not expected.

I completely agree with the restrictions side of things and everyone's experiences will differ and not all information and detail will be provided. So some of the throwaway comments on this subject should be taken for what they are.

I've been in profit with B365 in most recent years and they've never restricted me and give me a tenner every week for nothing.
But I think it's the longevity and average bet size that does it. But it's guesswork really, as to why.

                              • I thought my comment was harmless and was just pointing out my experience of being restricted quickly by 888. It was in no way meant as a challenge to Evesham Road so i apologise if that was how it was taken but no malice was intended.
