I have always been of the opinion that if this was to be his last Hurdle race, then they’d try for a big big win, and max out his career hurdle rating

If that was achieved, then I’d think it would be easier to say ‘job done - he’s the best hurdler there’s been’ and consider the move into chasing at that point.

I thought they might have done that in the Champion Hurdle, would’ve thought beating State Man by as far as possible rather than Epatante for the 3rd time this season might have earned him a higher rating.

Hope they do go for it. But the step up in distance would concern me slightly with a lengths bet, and then maybe trying to hold onto him for a bit longer... If possible.

Possibly, but every other runner in the race has their best form over 2 miles, so the distance shouldn’t come into it that much for me.

We do have Zanahiyr taking him in on again which will help with the rating factor. I'm with Saxon here in that I think they'll go all out to get the highest figure recorded by a Hurdler. IMO he'll be even better stepped up in distance which is quite scary !

Yeah that’s true, and I think he will. Was pretty disappointed that Zanahiyr got within 13 lengths of him last time & id expect the distance between them to be much greater tomorrow.

I fully expect Constitution Hill to put on a show tomorrow.

They've always been keen on this race, and seeing him step up to 2m4 so slightly easing off in the Champion Hurdle made sense.

Though I expect the winning distance to be greater (likely low double figures) the 1/2 still available for 6 lengths is one of the best 1/2 shots you’ll see imo. I’ve had as much as I can on.

2m4 will give them the extra distance to kick on and in a field of questionable horses, he’ll be able to pull even further clear
