…ha, ha, never miss an opportunity to mention it. It was a long time ago but I scored a few goals and played in plenty of fine stadiums.

….yep, was fortunate to watch those great Everton teams from the early ‘60s onwards, bit painful at the moment.
To put my footy record straight, I was born & raised in Liverpool. I was a very good schoolboy footballer, one of those prolific goalscorers who grab the headlines. I was playing representative footy & signed for Liverpool in 1971. I was there for 3 years but it was never an intended career for me.Last edited by Eggs; 21 August 2022, 05:39 PM.

Weird how the most talented don’t always come through. I played against the likes of Ray Wilkins, yet a lad called Mick Parle was an apprentice at Everton and had ability and attitude but never had a career in the game. Michael Branch (father of the Everton starlet with the same name) was a Rolls Royce defender at Liverpool he was another who didn’t make it.
You wouldn’t have picked Dave out as future European Cup winner but he’s a good lad and was dedicated to the cause.Last edited by Eggs; 22 August 2022, 12:40 PM.

Sammy Lee a bit younger but played in the same County schools team as me. Dave and I were the same year at school and played for Liverpool Schoolboys along with a number of future professionals (one was Cliff Woof who is now based in Newmarket & involved in racing. Cliff was a pro at Liverpool).
