I get increasingly grumpy about 'free bets' conditional on you placing a cash bet.

It's just a come on to potential problem gamblers and is the sort of thing that gives the anti-gambling brigade ammunition. It's convenient if you were already planning to have a qualifying bet but 'free' it ain't. Free is when you're not down if all bets lose.
