I’ve done a final double - billaway/Concertista and a treble with appreciate it and Shishkin..... I’ll be praying for some offers on the week of the race as whilst billaway is a winner it’s a relatively small one

The closer we get, the more I'll stake on shorter prices, but just felt 10/1 wasn't that exciting at the time...

Yes , i wouldn't go out of my way to be backing short prices that early , just took the view it was the only likely race to be in and a leading contender. .

I think this is one race exceptions can be made as there are literally no alternatives, bar injury your selection (whichever hunter that might be) will land here so you have absolutely no ‘could he go there’ fears.
10/1 in June isn’t appealing I agree but I would have said then and now that a 10/1 Foxhunters horse is better value than a 10/1 shot in just about any other race...

I think it was Mullins who said the owner had seen the trophy and was building a new trophy cabinet ready for this year

Willie said he hated the ground and the ground impacted on his jumping too.

Given the ground he still tanked at the back end of the race , he made up some ground when they swung in making up 6/7L on the field in a matter of strides was really eye catching. Think it was a good performance, more experience and a year older for this race this year.

Billaway will improve on better ground and he's getting better with experience. He does look the one to beat. Shame Aloneamongmillions went lame. It Came to Pass needs a run before Cheltenham. I presume he was pulled because of the ground ??
