Agree. Watch his races back this morning. Didn't realize how inexperienced he was, just 8 runs in total before his Foxhunter 2nd. Very unusual to have so few runs and be competitive in that race. He's a big player to go one better.

Also Patrick gave him a shocker of a ride. He may not have won in March, but he was given far too much to do.

I want It Came To Pass in my book too though. He was a very good winner.

Skybet have him at 10/1 in the NHrequest a bet section for anyone interested. Just notice. I backed a few days ago with Hills at 9s.

Thanks Geordie, but I'd only back him each way.

Agree. Spent ages looking at this race trying to find a clever bet. Billaway and staker Wallace are decent bets but cant get away from last years winner

Good point. Missed this season's Fez in preparation for next year.

                  Jatiluwih
He had a good season for us winning over hurdles three times and he will probably be going hunter chasing with his main target likely to be the Foxhunter at Cheltenham in mind. David Maxwell will obviously ride him.

                    Wow, a Novice Hunter Chaser!

You’ll remember SW that the Foxhunters was a Gold Cup trial at one point with 6 yo taking in the Foxhunters before embarking on a professional career, Cappa Bleu is one that springs to mind though I’m sure there are others from the period just before/after year 2000...

I didn't know that about Cappa Bleu, without checking, he's the horse that Moloney used to get placed year after year in the national isn't he (well, once at least) haha

I do recall somebody being really keen on him, it might have been from a podcast or preview before Cheltenham, and essentially they said the jockey meant the price was bigger than it should have been...

I have no interest in backing him but I thought it was interesting! The owner has a few options already doesn't he...

SW - He's certainly no Novice, with 10 chases under his girth in France already including a win. Last run in a chase was at Pau in January 2019.

As Kev says, the owner jockey already has a bunch to choose from and he habitually adds a couple of new purchases each year too in an effort to land the Foxhunters at Cheltenham. Despite the comment from Philip Hobbs, I'm waiting to see how he gets on with Cat Tiger and Bob & Co first.

                              Aaah, that makes more sense.

I still wouldn’t back anything in the Foxhunters for a long while though.

I tried to hard, to early, to find last years winner then the outsider rode them all to pieces.

It’s a small stakes race, unless something really takes the eye in P2Ps from January onwards.

Yes it’s Maxwells dream to win this race. He should have a few to choose from. Cat and Jat are the two on my radar at the moment. Bob and Co just seems too headstrong to ever get home over the trip at Cheltenham.
