Evening All - Im Nick and new to the forum. I am 34 and been watching racing since a young age due to my gran. She use to work in a local pub/restaurant when they had a “book” so we would regularly have a 20p ew bet there.

I stumbled across this forum yesterday when researching for Cheltenham 2021. I’ve been backing Goshen and Envoi Allen to win any race in the festival at 14/1 with skybet since April, but I know there’s another section in here for that.

I have a very very small share in a current horse which is good fun.

          Morning

Long time lurker and finally decided to push ahead with getting a username.

I love jumps racing but the festival in particular. I don't really understand the occasional bits I read that there is too much focus on Cheltenham, you wouldn't say that about the champions league or football world cup. I love nothing more than seeing the best of the best go up against each other.

          Favourite Horse

Despite not loving the flat, Frankel stands out to me. I wasn't just the winning it was how he won, the 2000 guineas win when he just tore away from them is one of my favourite clips to go back and watch.

          First Cheltenham Memory

The one that really stands out is Coneygree's Gold Cup win in 2005. My interest in jumps racing had been building but this was when my interest picked up a notch. Reading the forums on Thursday night and the papers in the morning there were whispers that the rain would suit him, so early in the day I backed him and as they day went on the rain kept coming his price shortened and shortened. Had to love his front running style and such a shame he was never able to follow up that success.

          Best Cheltenham Memory

Attended the Thursday in 2019, what a day! The whole course was just buzzing. Thanks to Scooby on here I'd backed Paisley Park relatively early and was sat on a good ticket. I had also topped this up on the day as my fiancée now wife is called Paisley so there was a bit of an added story and my whole family had a passing interest. Obviously Paisley Park duly delivered in exhilarating fashion, although giving us all a right scare when he clattered the last.
Then we got the excitement of Frodon and Bryony Frost just an amazing day. We stayed on the course for a bit after the racing to let the rush die down. As we finally made our way to the exit, we bumped in to Andrew Gemmell. Congratulated him on the fine win, and then I mentioned that my fiancée was called Paisley. He quickly said "Your surnames not Park is it?", "unfortunately not" I replied, "Shame" he said as he got bundled into the cab. Absolutely fantastic.

                Afternoon!

Can't remember exactly how long I've been a lurker... headed to the festival religiously every year since I turned 18. Don't have a great deal of interest in the flat racing, but I love the jumps. I love reading the Cheltenham plots/theories this far out, find that as interesting as the racing itself! Should probably take this opportunity to thank those who know way more than I do... most of the theories (right or wrong) are great!

Favourite current horses are Frodon and Envoi Allen. Really do think EA is going to be something special, although there are quite a lot of exciting horses about at the minute!

Best festival memory was probably watching Ballyalton win the Close Brothers. I brought a few uni friends for their first Cheltenham experience, and after going on about him all day all but one of them had decided to agree with me. Was a great end to what had been a pretty expensive day to that point!

                        Welcome

This was a fond memory for myself. The Faugheen form he had too from the Ballymore. Was a decent winner for me and also had the reverse forecast that race

Afternoon all... another one flushed out!

I’ve been in to racing for over 10 years, but the last few years pretty much all of my betting has revolved around the Cheltenham Festival, with ante-post being my main focus for the last few years.

This year I went in to the festival feeling like I had taken too cautious an approach - I ended up with a full book in 6 races - but it ended up being my best year yet. Not completely sure if this approach has paid off or not over the last few years - I need to keep better records!

I’ve never actually been to the festival. Oddly it’s not something I feel a great need to do given how busy it looks and how busy Cheltenham has been when I’ve been there for other meetings. There are a few of us that always take the week off for it though. Going to the DRF at the start of the year is definitely the best experience I have had going racing; I was already planning next years trip by the time I had got back to England!

Why Ballyfitz? Simply put - my first memorable on-track big (at the time) win was when he won at the Tingle Creek meeting in 2009.

Looking forward to getting a bit more stuck in and being involved in some decent discussion in the lead up to the festival in 2021...

You know what i was reading these this evening and thought i havent ever introduced myself, i just turnt up and started talking bollocks like i was a part of it all around winter time last year so its a bit overdue but im lew, 29 nickname is ray and im strictly jumps really! Always learning been into it for about 4-5 years..i was having no luck on football bets one day i said to my mate “f**k this im gonna start betting on nags” and ive kept it up since but have a huge love for it, my last 3 years for cheltenham have been on an upward curve profit wise so i take it more and more seriously throughout the year now..id like to up my game on the smaller meets throughout the year and not just cheltenham so thats my goal, i enjoy the site thoroughly and its given me a good ammount of profit in my small time here so WELLIN!
