Hi all
Thought I'd been reading in the dark for too long and it was only right to sign up and introduce myself. I grew up living in pubs so a Saturday afternoon watching the racing and eating pork pies with my grandad got me hooked early. Fav track is Chester, the inside draw at 6/7f always pays for a good day out.
As far as Cheltenham is concerned I go every year usually Tue and Fri, unfortunately only Fri this year and my 2 favourite moments are imperial commander (big place pot win that day) and native river who I'd been chipping away at all year.
Taking out the hot favs I like Eldorado Allen ew in the Ryanair and Tornado Flyer in the big one.
Out of the favs I can't see anything beating Bob even if GDC turns up, although I'm sure this has been a topic of much debate already.

I have only been into National Hunt for the last 5 years having been living in Oz and being a fan of their flat racing. Very keen reader of the forum over the last 2 years and now will be happy to add my thoughts and viewsLuck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

lived in Sydney - mainly Balmain. Frequent trips to Randwick (saw Black Cavier! Missed Winx though) and Rosehill and in my final week I visited Warwick Farm. Never did any other State raving sadly.
what about yourself?

Evening all!
Looking forward to getting stuck into the upcoming seasons both over the flat and National Hunt!
Been going racing as long as i can remember, would always go with my dad and he'd give me a fiver a race to chuck at anything with a name i liked! so i imagine he was often shaking his head when i told him what i fancied! sometimes i think I'd be better off if i still went with the names i liked, but that wouldn't be any fun would it?
lets hope for a huge week next week some unbelievable clashes to look forward to! will be there for the first 3 days, so will have Guiness coursing through my veins i imagine.

Hi all I've been aware of the forum for a couple of years now, I'm sure I share all the punters dream of getting the big one up. Lucky 15s and patents my normal choice of bets. I have had some limited success but pray for the biggy ( one of these days ), I've been trying since I was a 14year old board marker in my local bookies some 40 years ago. I am a Novice knowledge wise in comparison to some of the members on here but I am keen to learn other opinions and views. I wish all of the members the very best of luck with this forthcoming festival. I feel I am going into battle with more ammunition thanks to all the information I have absorbed from these very pages. Thanks guys

Randwick and Rosehill, with a smattering of Warwick Farm occupied most of my Saturday afternoons. I actually found Australian racing quite easy to read. I.e. what was trying and when.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Morning all. I'm Rob, 27 and was introduced to horse racing at a very early age by my Dad. I have always been a football fan though and never really took to it until the last 5 or so years when I'd watch Cheltenham and some other big races around the jumps season. My knowledge is still pretty limited but just from lurking on this forum the past few weeks I feel like I've already learned quite a lot so I'm enjoying getting in some discussions to increase that even further.
Cannot wait for The Festival and have booked the week off work to enjoy it from home. Favourite horse would have to be Altior as he won me my first ever bet on a race which I believe was the Supreme in 2016.

Afternoon everyone to the best week of the year!
My love for National Hunt racing and Cheltenham stems back a long way, one of my early Ante post bets was Imperial Call in the 96 Gold Cup, I remember Charlie Swan making a positive comment about it, so I backed it at 40/1, SP was 9/2 I think. Love to beat the bookies, sweet moment yesterday when Surprise Package won albeit I had 16/1 with Paddy, SP 20/1 they restricted me last year and kicked me out of their free bet club. Too many bookies restricting, but can still beat them, that's what its all about!
Love listening to podcasts, Gavin Lynch and Tony Keenan particular favourites, banter on the Finishing Line is great if nothing else. Always listening for that nugget of info that can be used towards a good bet.
Lucky 15,s are a favourite bet of mine, I had Pricewise L15 just before Xmas, lucky thing was I chose Trytonic over Gerry Claremont in the last leg, but when commentator said Gerry Claremont was improving entering the straight did wonder why I didnt split the pair, still it worked out in the end.3rd Lucky 15 up it was.
Looking forward to Cheltenham 2022, but lots of gloss taken off by Sir Gerhard Dysart Dynamo shenanigans, still hoping Willie has last minute change of mind for Gallopin, but doesnt look too promising, if not then hope Bob produces the goods and turns it over and leaves Willie with egg on his face lol
Good Luck everyone next week and I hope many of you can come out of it in profit.
