    • Glad to see the fortunate Triumph winner hasn’t gone unnoticed by a few in here (Kev & Quevega), she was probably the greenest runner in the Triumph field last March along with her stable mate & although jumping better than she had done at Fairyhouse (grand piano comes to mind) is open to so much more improvement under the best trainer in the business for this discipline going forward. 20/1 seems fair to me

        • Scanning through the betting trying to find possible place angles for this race.

If BDD or Honey turn up I’d imagine they will win. If one or both don’t then there has to be some value around.

2 I like the look of are Burning Victory and Minella Melody.

Burning Victory obviously was the fortunate winner of the triumph but she travels really well and picked up so many places from the back to win and the step up will surely suit. Brushes up her jumping she could even have an outside chance of winning depending on who turns up. 20/1 seems about fair I think.

Minella Melody was a bit disappointing for me in the mares novice but prior to that her best performances were over further than 2m. Provided she stays over hurdles at 33/1 could represent some value. Same owner trainer as Honeysuckle so a lot of ifs buts and maybes of targets.

Interesting shout with MM, presumably she'll be chasing?!

MM is of definite interest. One I haven't backed yet, and kept quiet about, but I think the 2m 4f will definitely suit her more than that of the 2m she run in in the Mares Novice, season just gone. 33/1 is definite value, IMO.

Yeah the trip is a real positive.

Only thing is, will Elfile be a possible too for the same colours

                  • There are lots of novices being talked about for the Mares Chase, but surely it'll more likely to be won by a seasoned and experienced chaser than an inexperienced novice? Will many of the novices in the betting even turn up in the race?

Some of the words from connections recently suggest that the race is being considered for Benie. If she goes nothing will lay a glove on her, and I reckon she'd scare all the novices away.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Agreed. So probably best to take the price on Benie and wait until her plans are known before betting anything else .

Novice mares before the mares novice hurdle ran in the the mares hurdle didn't they (i think haha)? So i'd say with the lack of options if they want a chance of winning at the festival this is it? They will probably get a weight allowance?

Yep, I'd definitely be looking at the novices.

Yeah that’s the problem owner has Elfile as well although with Mullins and possibly going chasing.

Also not sure if HDB would maybe want MM going chasing if Honey is being targeted here.

Yes, but as we/many have been saying here the race conditions have to be considered before getting stuck into anything.
They moved away from the age allowance some years ago so unlikely 5yo chasers will receive an allowance but horses with class 1 win(s) may well be penalised and the likes of PTKO, should connections take the bizarre decision to run her in this, could be lumped with multiple penalties....
