Hello Fat Jockeys,
Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum
We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.
I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Fury Road can be forgiven his run at Leopardstown over Christmas as he wasn't quite one hundred per cent. He seems to be much better at home and we're looking forward to running him. I'm half leaning towards skipping Cheltenham altogether with him and keeping him for Fairyhouse and Punchestown. We'll see how we get on here first.
That Albert Bartlett form, needs respecting and running on the back of?!

Not go chasing to stay over hurdlers and not go for the biggest staying race. Understand the races in Ireland are potentially worth as much but I’d be amazed were he not on the boat.
May be different if hammered today of course.

Can see why Elliot might want to keep him at home as he has a very strong hand with SDB and The Storyteller who has a much more likely chance of winning than his 20/1 currently suggests. I know he wanted to keep Battle Over Doyen at home but he was made run him even after a fall last year. Can people think of many examples of Gigginstown keeping horses at home when they would have a good chance in a Grade 1 at Cheltenham? Could be plenty haven't really thought thought it for that long

I've just placed a bet on Fury Road for the Stayers with Ladbrokes at 16/1 (boosted to 18s) NRMB. If he wins today surely he goes Stayers and will be shorter than 18/1, if he loses he could potentially go to Coral Cup, or on Elliott's latest comments not travel over, in which case it would be money back anyway. The AB form from last season looks very good form and there should be more to come.

If Fury Road does skip Cheltenham then I imagine it's very much a Gigginstown led decision myself.
They've made it public how it's not a race they particularly target.
And though they tend to have a runner most years (in 5 of the last 7 renewals), odds of
7/1, 25/1, 8/1, 33/1, 7/1, 50/1, 14/1
Show that it's often been with a horse making up the numbers.
I'd argue only Alpha des Obeaux really had the race targeted from the offset and went into the race with a really genuine chance albeit against a monster in Thistlecrack.
Would make the decision to stay over hurdles for the season all the more baffling though.

I think the 50/1 NRNB for Beacon Edge has a potentially nice angle to it.
If he beats Fury Road today, which he easily could, as he's rated 4 lbs higher yet is getting 2 lbs, would it influence the owners?
Beacon Edge has never tried 3 miles, totally unexposed at the trip, so he's not going to collapse in price by any stretch, but if he won today, does he go there?
It's pretty much no risk, because if beaten today, the chances they then send him is tiny.
It's probably not likely that he ran in it even if he won today, but as he's up against the owners 'best dart' at this stage, it has to be worth considering?

As someone backed Beacon Edge for any race, and had given up hope.... I'm pleased to see someone actually making a case for him.
Interesting take, and pointer for those wanting to take advantage of NRNB and his run today.
