  • I think there’s been plenty of people hoovering up the bigger prices.

I’ve had bits matched around an average of 70.0

    • Ah well fair play to them.

Factoring in how unlikely I think it will be he turns up, I've got no interest even at the last matched price of 40/1...... if he turned up he wouldn't even be favourite IMO, but obviously a great trading opportunity if people are right.

      Good luck to them/you.

      • Thought the winner today was really impressive for a 5YO. No idea whether it would enjoy Cheltenham, or if it will even come over, but that was a taking performance and handicap form was franked very nicely too. One I’d be really keen to see again.

Can only echo all thoughts about Benie- if she does stay over hurdles then she’d be a most interesting runner played late in a stayers. Don’t see any point tackling Honeysuckle but of course the Mares chase is an option.

        • Any NRNB prices tickling anyones fancy?

          Benie Des Dieux - 4/1
          Roksana - 12/1
          McFabulous - 14/1
          Honeysuckle - 10/1
          Next Destination - 16/1
          Latest Exhibition - 14/1
          Sporting John - 33/1

The three mares must be considered?

Yeah I’ve paired Roksaka in a roll up with Everton today so when West Ham nick it 1-0 I’ll go back in with the singles...

            • Entries are in less than 2 weeks. I wonder if we'll see some Gold Cup outsiders in here as well.

              • ....Mark Howard suggests there’s been an over-reaction to Fury Road’s recent defeat;

The Cheltenham Festival is on the horizon in mid-March and Mark Howard kicks off his Portfolio by keeping faith in Gordon Eliott's Stayers' Hurdle hope.

Yes, I wrote about this a few days ago on FJ.

Fury Road before the race was being mentioned as not liking the track and performing better elsewhere, so I wasnt surprised to see him close up but not winning.

He did the same at the DRF, beaten 6 lengths or so by Latest Exhibition then finishing a nose apart a month later in the Bartlett.

I have no doubt that he will perform better away from Leopardstown and the current price represent good value for those who haven't backed him already.

A six lengths or so improvement, for being away from Leopardstown and back at Cheltenham, may be enough to win the Stayers.

                  • I should've got Flooring Porter added to the market before his win LTO. Oh dear ..never mind. Still won on him. Hows about this one then, Navajo Pass , running on like train in the Triumph and would have finished 6L clear if it was over 3m. Won easily ,an improver for a distance. I WILL GET A QUOTE THIS TIME.

                      Surely you'd want 300-1+
Exchange is your best chance, and they'll refuse to add it. I reckon.

Completely agree. He and SDB will both be much better suited to Cheltenham over Leopardstown. They'll both be heavily involved in the finish to the Stayers IMO and I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of them won it. Both big players .

                            • Has anyone seen any quotes re The Storyteller since his last run? Believe the word beforehand was that it would tell them where they were likely to be aiming for the rest of the season.

No less than 20/1 anywhere that I can see for various races... form with some of the fancied horses and general form this year is decent.

No-one can hear you if you don't have a profile picture....

On a serious note, not sure... he's one that you could get tempted with any race...but then he may end up running as a big outsider in a big race where you could have gotten a bigger price easily enough.

One to consider NRNB if they price him wrong though?
