    • I think the storyteller is interesting here and offers good value in 12s for Christmas hurdle if you take form line against top of the market sire du berlais at 7/4. both seem open to improvement so I don't get why sdb is such a bigger price or at least worth taking on.

.. the storyteller has won good races over fences this year and Gordon suggested his Christmas hurdle result could determine the path they go down this year and thats hes as good over hurdles as fences.

Posted this in a different thread. He's actually 20s. Thinks he's a cracking bet

          • Not convinced how strong Irish form is

Storyteller might be value bet tomorrow....specially EW given form

Fury Rd hates track.....but others need to shine to threaten Thyme and Paisley

            • Ronald Pump was finishing very well over an inadequate 2m4f LTO. I think he will win with Sire Du Berlais placed.

              • I see mcfabulous is declared for the relkeel on Friday

Id be hoping his target now would be the Aintree hurdle over 2m4f not here

With him being close 3rd behind Thyme Hill and Paisley Park at Newbury, form thats clearly been franked again since, he's certainly worth persevering with down the Stayers route. He's still relatively inexperienced and the Newbury race was very messy.

                  • Don't know why the drift on SDB this morning but I'm all over it. 5/2 is massive even with strong challengers. I think should and will win today and cement his name in the picture with thyme and Paisley. Fury Road selfishly i want to run a good race but I'm not expecting him to win. Dont like his record here. But as I say would like a nice round and keep up with the pace and stay it out for a place. Ronald Pump main danger. The Storyteller might be worth and each way squeak today.

If he runs well / wins friday , ( mcFab) ., he'd have to be back in the picture for the stayers wouldn't he .

For me personally it wouldn’t. Fridays race is 2m4 I believe and I still have doubts about him staying 3m and a Cheltenham hill

We all pretty much concluded post race that McFabulous didn't stay so in my mind barring a ludicrously strong performance and finish up that hill, the Rekeel changes very little.

The Newbury race may have been messy but he's travelled into it like a dream, match fit, and found sweet FA. There is little to no chance that hill would see him to better effect, IMO.

                          He's one to forget IMO

                            I wasn't convinced he didn't stay.
Although it's hard to argue as it looked very much like that.
And he certainly didn't stay as well as the front 2 in the race.
But you could say the same for the horses in behind in then Long walk also.

2m 4f on likely very soft or Heavy ground Friday will be a good test.
And hopefully a few of those entered are declared, and we see who is potentially a threat come March.

                            • McFabulous to win the Relkeel, shorten dramatically to take a big chuck out of the Stayers Hurdle market, get smashed in as Lobos and Quevega get their few points on .... and he folds before the last on the day. Perfect.

Non stayer, clear as day relative to the two proper stayers that beat him. He's a good enough horse on ability not to get disgraced but I can't see why anyone at all could even make the case for him reversing the form back at 3m?

I'll dangle the carrot ready to get nibbled .... I cannot fathom how anyone could fancy him for a Stayers Hurdle.

SDB is a better horse at Cheltenham. Whatever he does today, expect him to improve on it again in March.
