PP has only once won by more than 3l in the last 3 years(8 total wins) and that was beating West Approach in a G3. What factors does your graph take into account as this year's Stayers will be the best field he will have ever faced once you include Sire Du Berlais and Fury Road?

I absolutely loved that race today and Paisley's performance! The Stayer's will be one of many great races to really look forward to and I think any one of PP, Thymehill, SDB and Fury Road can win it. I'm on all 4 at the moment so quite happy. Tried to get more rollovers today but Caribbean Boy was shit.

    • Was a cracking race and great to see Paisley back to his best. Agree with a lot I couldn't split them for cheltenham on normal spring ground.

      • Depends on the ground and pace of the race on the day, but the hill will play into the hands of the stronger stayer.

That slight uphill finish today was all Paisley Park needed, and he certainly didn't get the run of the race either.

The rivalry thing is good, as whatever side you're on you can weigh in when NRNB kicks in.

When Johnson watches the race back he'll know he's up against it the next time.

Paisley would have won by more today, going away.

        • What a race !!!!!

I think I would just favour TH on better ground.

The stayers could turn out to be race of the festival

                • That was a great race, have backed both so not pocket talk, to my eye the jockey on TH was just over confident, he thought he only had roksana to beat. He was travelling by far the best, and got complacent. Obviously that won't happen at Cheltenham and he'll throw everything at the horse and not try to win it snugly. I still take TH as the best horse in the race and I'd expect him to beat paisley at the festival still

Yep, that's what I said so not sure you're understanding what I'm trying to say in that he never wins by much and that the only time he did win by more than 3l in the last 3 years was against West Approach(not a G1 hurdler imo) in a G3 yet your graph thinks Paisley will win by 4l in this year's Stayers which will be a proper G1 with proper G1 runners with the likes of TH, SDB, FR and also last year's winner.

Forgive me for quoting myself, but just to add that the reaction of Johnson after the race backs all that up. You don't get so furious for losing a race, you only get that mad if you know it was you that fcked it up

                      • As soon as he hit the front I thought it was a touch too soon. Given how heavy that ground was, I'd still slightly favour TH for March. Was great to sit back and watch the Paisley of old appear again though, that was something special.

This is by far the most exciting division at the minute! Shaping up to be race of the festival, and we haven't even seen two of the big potential players make their case yet

But he didn't see what went on behind him on the bend did he ?
When he does, he should not feel so bad, as Paisley Park was clearly best today.

                          • Such a great race and as a PP health sceptic after what happened at the Festival this year some times you need to know when to take your medicine. I’m in a fair position with TH, SDB and FR and I was expecting PP to be best price at 11/4 with the cash out bookies. But 7/2 with BFSB is big enough to pull the trigger. Will get some freebies on him as well over coming weeks and while he won’t be a big winner for me at least I won’t be tensing everything when he starts powering up the hill.

                            • I understand you but wanted to emphasise the 12 L victory over a GD3 horse.
To my eye he needed every last inch to win today. I always regard Cheltenham as being 3f further than than the race distance as it has a stamina sapping hill.
PP will relish it. He was out of sorts in the Stayers last time. He's back.
