He must be the most unpopular horse in training

Given the rest of his form outside that run I suppose that's the right price that he should be though.

This might be a bad bet, but 16/1 I am going to have to back for today
Didn’t he run @ Wetherby quite poorly the other week?

He did but then so did Copperhead in the same race and he wins the Hennessy

I would be very underwhelmed and disappointed if LO was to win the race today. There would be loads of big bubbles burst for the English hopefuls. It would however be a big plus for fans of their Irish counterparts Fury Road and Sire Du Berlais. 16/1 though is a stupid price for the current Champion. He shouldn't be that big so I can see thought behind backing him. Do I think he'll win today? No. I think one of Mcfabulous, Thyme Hill or Honest Vic will provide the English with a genuine challenger for the Stayers title in March.

It's one of those post race tear you hair out for not backing it types of prices isn't it. He wins and you scream 'so bleeding obvious', he doesn't, and you play it cool with 'I knew the stayers was just one of those odd results'

Personally, I'd be against him today in such a competitive race, but cannot knock anyone taking that price based on what he's achieved.

Same with Paisley now, 7/2 on exchange. Forgive one run with a legitimate excuse. If bombs can pass him off going forward but 7/2 if A1 again I don't mind finding out with others having plenty to prove too.

                • The race is too good, it's too hard.
                  I give up.

                  Bring on the 1/6 shots

                  I'm joking of course!

It's a tough one isn't it . Paisley, Altior, Lisnagar Oscar, Benie, Buveur Dair, Chancun.......they all fit into the same category of 'Do we give them another chance' or 'Have they still got it in them' . The bookies are clever and know this and will dangle these tempting prices for these type of horses knowing they'll win overall. I take the view that if there are any of the above doubts about these horses then I'll leave them alone. Potentially 1 , maybe 2 of those mentioned could go on to win at the Fez but again, overall I know I'm likely to come out on top by not backing any of them.

That's fair enough but he's now 4/1 on the day let alone anything to do with next festival. I know your a mcfab fan but imo the fact Paisley is now twice his price is mental. Win or ose it's a price I have to take on my opinion on him & im essentially backing that he's A1 as opposed to is a horse up to this level.

Great race & splitting opinions. Roll on 3pm

Mcfabulous fan is a bit loose.......am also a fan of Thyme Hill, Fury Road, Sire Du Berlais and now Honest Vic ! Got all those in my book and haven't a clue if any of them will come out on top in March. Today's race is superb and will go a long way hopefully to solving the puzzle. If the likes of Paisley or Lisnagar Oscar win today then I'm done for re the English bunch but I simply can't bet any more in the race !

Annoyed to have missed the price on McFabulous for this as he was one I was keen on last year.

But I’d be surprised if it isn’t better value backing today and rolling it over to stagers bet rather than taking 20/1 for the double

                            • What price do we think today's winner will go? 7/2 ish would be my guess whoever it may be.

Unless it was honest vic, surely he wouldn’t go single figures if he won.

He’s not the trendy horse that people would latch onto.

he’s the one that I REALLY want to win today. Would cause abit of a stir in the Stayers division I think!
