I think some would suggest he didn't stay, but I'd go with the opposite, and he showed that he needs further, and a stronger pace.
He has to improve for the extra half mile and a stronger pace IMO - there's no guarantee he will though.
He could easily have reached his level and the trip may not bring any improvement.
If connections drop him in trip I'll be fuming.
The best way of getting the thought process across is to imagine what Lisnagar Oscar would have done in that race today.
Having said that, it would have been more encouraging had he won like Summerville Boy did

Over 4f more, at Cheltenham, he's 'a threat' as they may be enough to turn that specific piece of form around.....
but no-one is gonna be conclusive for you.... what did you think?

I think that's pretty decent form for an 80-1 shot who may improve for a stiffer test.
Sorely tempted to go in again.

Sire Du Berlais has won the last two runnings of the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham and I thought he produced a career best effort there last March when beating The Storyteller back in March. His best handicap form would suggest that he is worth his place in races like this so it will be interesting to see how he gets on here. He does tend to need his first run of the season but he seems very well at home and he is showing me that he could run well.
