Ps this isn't having a go at you, I'm just intrigued with your logic on this one...
Agree the TWAR price is gone now. I suppose value is the wrong word when chasing is more likely route for Monkfish. It's an option nonetheless and 33/1 is big enough for people maybe to throw 'free' money at it for potential big gains and 'nothing' to lose scenario. I certainly like a few of the other horses mentioned by Saxon and already have most in my book albeit under the TWAR umbrella. The Stayers looks very open this coming season so I can see a fair few trainers seeing it as a good chance to pick up a festival winner.

    • They are balmy if Monkfish stays over hurdles. Revert to hurdles if he makes a mess over fences but I think he could be a Gold Cup horse in 2022

      • Bet365 only let me have £3.79 on Thomas Darby at the 66/1.

            • Anyone think Carefully Selected could be a live one for this following the Bacardys route?! Isn’t a good enough jumper over a fence but a serious engine and this would look perfect unless they went for a handicap hurdle.

Quite interesting, hadn't thought about him... he's probably more likely to try fences again than be plotted towards a handicap hurdle. Is he a fun price?

A good shout. He did blunder his way through his novice season and his run in the NHC was proper lacklustre before his demise. He may well go back hurdling beit in the Stayers or more likely a handicap. Pertempts perhaps? I think he's the 20th horse I've mentioned now for that race.

I like this but for me, he would be of even more interest for the Pertemps. Currently rated 146 over Hurdles. One to keep a close eye on for sure.

The more the Pertempts is mentioned for CS the more I think he will be plotted down that route. When is the earliest any bookie prices up the Pertempts??

                      • I think its normally around early January. Skyb may do a RaB - unfortunately they don't seem to price horses up for me anymore otherwise I would request it as would be interested in finding out what it may be.

Sometimes I think requesting prices alerts them and they come up with something ridiculous. Probably best to leave it until they price up naturally. May get bigger then.

                            • William Hill were pricing up Handicaps at Christmas, that where the 33/1 The Storyteller and about half that for Sire Du Berlais came from.

I also recall several other handicap markets going up (probably all handicap markets) at the same time.

Please can you request a price for him to win by 8+ lengths?
