I'm really hoping that PP's issue was just a one off and that he will return as good as ever because if he does, he would still be clear favourite for next year IMO.

There is always the possibility that the other PP might revert to hurdles. Having switched to Gordon Elliott maybe there will be a fresh review between connectiions around viable options. Presenting Percy already has a decent record over hurdles at Cheltenham and with such a hot looking GC, the Stayers might be a softer target ?

I'd imagine if they are thinking about preparing Presenting Percy for Nationals Gordon will be working on getting his handicap mark down over fences Nortons.
FWIW though I think he could potentially run a big race in the Stayers, and fits the profile of one coming back from fences that run well. It will definitely be discussed.Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

You'd have to be hopeful of a decent NRNB price - I don't think it'll be the plan unless the actual plan is the Grand National. If that's the case he should be a fair enough price for the Stayers NRNB at some stage.
I don't think I even believe he's a good bet for anything, but I will be on him in whatever race he runs in, in March, if fit and well.Last edited by Kevloaf; 10 September 2020, 07:09 PM.

Reading through the thread and talking about the stats..would they not point to Emitom? Seemed to be 1 paced turning in this year but 5 years old! A returning 6 year old to the same race with a better campaign (not a slog through the mud in haydock!) could be worth a go

He’ll be 7 next year Ray, but he was one I liked coming into last season.
The injury obviously didn’t help his chances to be honest. Suppose it will depend if they stay over hurdles which I think they will and have another crack at the stayers. Would be a slight worry they possibly bypass for aintree as his aintree novice hurdle run reads really well behind champ.

Yeah comments here..
He is only six and is maybe still a bit weak to get home properly in a race like that, but he has run very well and from my point of view the most exciting part is there is plenty more there. There is a lot to look forward to."
Although Emitom is up there among the best staying hurdlers in the country, Greatrex has not ruled out the possibility of switching him to fences next season.
He said: "With no Aintree and no overseas runners likely to be allowed at Punchestown, that is him done now for the season.
"We will see what happens when he comes back in as to whether we stay over hurdles or go novice chasing.
"He could be an extremely good chaser and that could help his jumping even more, it would give him more to look at."
