    • I'd like to see Allaho back this up, but struggling to see anything out there that's going to beat him over the middle distance trip
That Ryanair had the best around

Ah sorry thought u meant shishkin.
I don’t think anything would have beaten him on that day, he was brilliant.

Nothing to beat and nothing would have beaten him then ?

I don't think you are going to win this debate. It was a top class field, it was a sensational performance in a very quick time with amazing sectionals and was rated the best performance of the whole meeting. Impossible to crab anything .

Not trying to win anything, just throwing my opinion out there for debate take it or leave it. I think you’re all missing the point anyway by keep going over how impressive allaho was which I haven’t ever said to the contrary. If you believe that was peak Min and Samcro and the rest are all quality performers then good luck throwing money away backing them in future grade 1s!

                    • Anything been said by Nicky about Angels Breath recently? He’s a a bit of a forgotten horse, 40/1 for the Ryanair at the moment.

                      • Bet 365 have followed suit with the rest of the bookies and dropped energumene to 14/1.

Do people see Allaho going to the QMCC or will he defend the Ryanair.

Its impossible to know and will depend on what the horses do between now and then

if fit they will be entered in both and willie being wille we won't know until final decs 2 days before

Personally I cant see allaho having the natural speed for 2 miles so would be surprised if he ran in the CC

Punchestown will make the picture clearer

If he beats Chacun and Put The Kettle On at Punchestown over 2 then there's only one race he'll be heading for. If he doesn't then Ryanair again. Simples.

                            • I think it's highly unlikely Allaho goes to the Champion Chase. Energumene is more likely of the two, and I doubt he'd go there now either.

I'd also say both Cheveley and Bloom are more than aware that Shishkin would blow them away, and would rather be taking each other on in the Ryanair. Willie may still want to split them up, but he'd be consigning one of them to the 'also ran' bin if he did. The Punchestown run for Allaho is more about a practical option for him when not wanting to go to Aintree.

In addition to that, they saw him as a stayer from day 1. Not enough speed to win his bumper, and straight into 3 mile hurdles. He's not quite good enough over staying trips against the very best, altnhough he's not far behind, and easily his best perfomance has been over two and half on a still track on decent ground. The Ryaniat saw him at his absolute optimum.

That being the case it would feel like madness to start next season off with a campaing which culminates in a speed test on the Old Course at the Festival against Shiskin. Even if he does win at Punchestown, It makes no sense at all given his profile.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

I agree with you about Allaho and the Ryanair being his optimum race, i'd just be worried that he could keep surprising them and performing well over 2 miles then end up in the champion chase. I still think he will defend his Ryanair crown though.
