    Good?

At the respective ages, I'd wager Joseph O'Brien has achieved way more than any of them had at that stage. Absolutely destined for greatness.

Still, you're right for now.... but I have to stick up for Joseph whenever I get chance, he's better than "good".

I wasnt having a dig at Joseph. As it stands though, especially when it comes to jumps, GE > JOB
I rate JOB, he's up and coming and has achieved loads over flats. It's a shame that they appear to be winding down in the jump scene as I was excited to see a new face

"Good" in relation to producing, at this time of moment, cheltenham festival horses

Haha yeah, what you said was fair...I just wanted to rant about JOB.

I reckon JOB might have had more G1 winners over jumps still than Gordon had at the same point....but GE kept kicking and kicking and kicking.

Even ATR going on about the retirement subject. Absolutely mad.

7 years old. Multiple festival winner.

          • The fact that there's nothing wrong with him and they put it down to fitness is a concern, no? He was beaten and pulled up a long way out. If you were a supporter (I'm not), surely you'd want them to say he has something small and pulling him up was a precaution.

On the other side if it was all down to fitness, just how unfit was he?! It would be unusual for a trainer to send a horse to a race like that as unfit as he must have been. If true then a trainer I have a lot of respect for has gone down significantly in my estimation.

If I'm honest I suspect either an underlying issue that they haven't got to the bottom of, or his head. How many sweet travelers like Defi, that started their career over jumps early, have we seen stop putting it all in when they're under pressure? Plenty.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Joseph has been better with flat horses imo.

I wonder if they thought he peaked to early last year and will bring him on later this time ? In his JLT year the FTO at Cheltenham was similar. Added benefit of price drift for connections.

                  It is for me Spectre.
Sunday followed another unexplained poor performance so there’s an argument it’s becoming a trend.
Now into his 6th ? year racing, very small chance he’s had enough of the game...

He has, but still has had notable early success, Edwulf winning the Irish Gold Cup, festival winners already...

                    The flat stuff is ridiculous.

Broken record, but he's destined for greatness.

I'd say it was more than just the second last. He was very early over a few today. He'll get better. It was only his second start over fences after all

                              • I disagree. He won today because of the mistakes made by others. Won’t all go his way in the Ryanair I shouldn’t think.
