Battleoverdoyen winning like that just shows that if you're good enough on the day, the trip isn't always that important, as I've often thought.
However, even I did not see that coming and credit must be given to Gordon for finding a different way to get this horse winning again.
He was written off as a slow boat by many, especially myself last year.
But that was a decent enough run, and he might pop up again at 2 miles.

One of the things I don't like about Samcro is he isn't quick over any obstacles. He didn't ping any today. I'll have to go back and watch the Marsh again. I think Samcro would be the most likely winner of the Ryanair still despite the result today... obviously not one I'd rush to back now.... but given he's a two time festival winner, adn the way he makes ground between fences says to me he will still be a player in the race.
I don't think he's been pushed out which is disappointing. Was half hoping for an over reaction there when I checked.

I've also played CDS for the Ryanair
I know Nichols has come out and said CDS or Cyrname are unlikely to go to Cheltenham but.... I can't see either of them running in the Gold Cup, and who ever finishes second (or places) in the KG could go Ryanair
The Marsh form hit a bit today and never really like the novices from previous year for the Ryanair. Other than Fakir, who I still feel need another year under his belt, I'm happy to side with a risky bet on CDS/Cyrname to go here and win it
