I think he's alright. There will be some point where I wished I had him at 25/1 each way, backed for the Ryanair.

The problem with that, is there will be at least 15 other horses I think that about, and this is not a race you can get a book in easily ante post (for reasons that are numerous and well discussed)

So no bet for me. Maybe a related double with PTKO if somebody gave me a free bet after the right amount of rum.

    • Took a chance on Master Tommytucker for this at 50s with 365 before he runs today. Obviously has issues with his jumping but he seems to have a massive engine. Getting weight he should win today and I'd imagine they'd keep him away from Topofthegame so this looks the likeliest target.

      • Master Tommytuckers jumping is awful, Al Dancers wasn’t much better, no improvement there

        • Yh disappointing to see him find nothing off the bridle and still dive at a couple so cashed out for a 5% loss.

          • Although i didnt think he was going to win today (didnt think hed even stay up!) i dont like cobdens habit of cruising around on the bridle and delivering his horses too late hes done it a few times this week now and got beaten by a battling horse..he either too confident in his mount or hes not recognising the threat

He finished extremely tame, didn’t see Harry use the whip or try and push him once he was headed. They didn’t look to be finishing too fast either. Wonder if something was a miss with him at the end.

Yeah, I got him added to that market the other day. Was pretty disappointing from him today. I was originally hoping they'd switch him back to hurdles this season and thought he could be an outsider for the Stayers. Still time, but not particularly confident about his chances.

                • Whilst we're talking about over rated horses.....

                  BREWIN'UPASTORM

"He was just starting to get into the Arkle, but nothing went right for him in the race and it was topped off by unseating Dicky.

I am going to step him back up in trip and he may well go up to Carlisle for the Colin Parker, or to Down Royal for that Grade Two over two and half miles there.

He is in fantastic form and looks magnificent. He is one we have not seen the best of yet.

The Ryanair might be a nice target in time, but I think he is a very good horse when everything goes to plan."

Pre-Arkle I remember thinking he would be 'the best of the British', and that wouldn't be good enough to win the Arkle. Whilst at first glance I'm interested in him at 33/1, I think we'll end up in the same position.

                  • Never jumped a fence in the arkle, if he ironed out his jumping coild be an option for one of the 2 and a half mile hcap chases at cheltenham durkng the winter. You would have to see him jump better before then before putting your money down though

For me, at the moment, he would be a horrible antepost pick, until he put in a performance of note.

He is one that needs to show more, to be getting backed for the hardest race meeting of the season.

                      • Poor Brewin’upastorm. Or Brewin’upaterrible as he’s been outrageously called on here. I actually got him added to hills TWAR market during lockdown and certainly haven’t given up on him yet.

Of course it’s easy to pick faults in a horse who is 33/1 for this race (25’s TWAR) but we simply don’t know good he could be. The reason behind the TWAR bet was because he could progress into a Ryanair horse or there could still be some scope for him out of his novice season to be well enough handicapped to run well in the plate. Or failing fences he had some decent hurdles form that could give him a squeak in the coral cup.

I reject that he is over rated... How can you say he’s overrated?! Who is giving him any chance?! His trainer loves him but find me a trainer out there who doesn’t love their better horses. We just don’t know how good he is.

He may turn out to be rubbish. He is priced accordingly (33s for this 66s for the CC) but how can anybody confidently say they have seen the ceiling of his ability?

He’s got smart hurdles form. He was still there when falling in the Arkle and after just two completed chase starts (both wins) over a distance arguably short of his best he is open to any amount of improvement.

Don’t write him off just yet.

                        Yours truly,
                        Brewin’upastorm’s number 1 fan.

                        • Haha, he was over rated on here going on to the Arkle. He was a bit of a smart arse bet for the Arkle.

Nobody is knocking the potential or ceiling,.. its just that he's being discussed but has no really decent form yet. He needs to show that potential to justify having a fan club

33/1 is actually fair enough ... as I said earlier, I'm tempted but feel like I know he won't be seeing the standard and therefore no real rush to get him backed. Being the best of the British in this race wouldn't likely be good enough

                          • It could be that Olly Murphy hypes his horses too early, or that he gets too much airtime c/w his Festival record, regarding his horses Cheltenham Festival potential.

                              He definitely piss balls about.
I think he's a windy fucker. (not got balls)
And is slow on the uptake and indecisive.

Other than that he's a really promising trainer

                              • After recent stable tours / books etc the one horse I’ve strengthened my position on is Allaho, really like him for this race along with Melon, will continue to back the two of them until they’re single figure prices
