    • I also think Itchy Feet is interesting, especially given how fancied he was for the Marsh.

He is however in the same ownership as Saint Calvados & Simply The Betts; both of which are also potential Ryanair candidates? Does anyone have any strong feeling about where each of them may be targetted - surely not all in the same race. STB likely to go for a handicap repeat?

      • Samcro's long term aim is the Ryanair according to twtter updates from Gordon.

Not a horse I've really thought about backing yet, at 12/1 - but definitely still in the category of likely winners, given his course/distance form now at Cheltenham.

A Ballymore and a Marsh Chase win over the intermediate trip is not to be ignored and he's not been mentioned that much in here recently.

Understandable I suppose given the price isn't incorrect, but one to keep an eye on - sometimes the answer is staring you in the face.

        • I’ve 1pt on him but will definitely look to add more throughout the season.

As you say, a two time festival winner is not to be sniffed at - and rarely available at double digits. My worry is he clearly idles, this nearly caught him out in the Marsh and could do in another race.

Yeah, I like it in terms of longevity for a horse, but I know what you mean. He idled in his Ballymore win too if you look for it.

I don't think it'll stop me backing him, but it is a blind spot.

            • I've backed him solely for the Ryanair. It's the only race he can win in my book. Solid looking get at 12/1 in a very open race. Him , Allaho and Angels Breath would be my current 3.

              • Easy Game at 33/1 for the Ryanair sticking around a bit after his win this afternoon.

Cut to 16/1 by other bookies already.

                • Paddy Power & Betfair still 33/1. Thought he jumped and travelled well there, did appear pressured and appeared comfortable with distance

                  • was going strongly right at every fence as well and ridden like they expected that. only first time out but would need that to be straightened out before I would be interested in him

Not sure why he is doing that. He operates well going Left-Handed, stayed on better over 2M5F in a Beginners Chase last season to beat Allaho, after coming off the bridle first and grinding it out.

Then in the Grade 1 at the DRF he was 2nd beaten under a length by Faugheen over 2M5F.

Went in the wrong race at Cheltenham in the RSA on soft ground, and faded from half-a-mile out.

When he is good, he looks very good, with the odd poorer run too.

yep completely agree with this, this is definitely his trip and I personally think hes best when allowed to dictate, I thought he won very comfortable today and always had matters in hand. 35s boosted with PP taken after that.

He is only six, so a similar age as Allaho, and a similar official rating after that.
So 3x the price than Allaho seems more than fair, when others are quoting 16s.

Strange PP are double the price of other bookies, I have always took note on PP’s price cuts or lack of price cuts especially with Mullins runners and for the 33’s still to be available...

I was at the DRF when 2nd to Faugheen and Easy Game certainly didn’t strike me as a Ryanair Chase winner, not for me..

                            • I'd be surprised if he goes unbeaten between now + March, he has 0 Cheltenham form + is unlikely to be their no.1 come March. Think it's decent of PP/BF to actually stick their neck out- too easy to follow the crowd and lazily cut after a win.

On the other hand, according to RPRs he's run a 166 today which only leaves him 7 off winning last year's Ryanair...

2nd year chasers can improve a right lump, or go downhill, particularly horses the age of Easy Game.
Given the 33/1 is with cashout, it’s a limited downside too.
His next race, possibly at Gowran in 4 weeks in the mid-trip Grade 2 could tell us whether he is a 2nd year big improver or not (like Kemboy at the same age - and he just put up a run 10lbs better on his seasonal debut than Kemboy did at the same stage of his career).
