Patrick was looking behind. He seemed to trot back ok though. Didn't dismount which is a good sign. Not a great prep it must be said.

        • My enthusiasm for allaho in this race is starting to increase

His rivals likely to run min, imperial aura and Saint calvados all have had less than ideal preps

His two biggest rivals imo melon and a plus tard could potentially both go to the gold cup depending on tomorrows result

After pretty much writing my bet from last March off im becoming more hopeful of a big run

          • The people dismissing the chance Paul Townend riding Allaho must feel slightly different today?

Post above looks accurate too..... funny old game!

            • I hear that Min is fine post race but they'd obviously want to know why he was that flat.

Think there are other rivals not mentioned

Notebook taking him on and jumping so well seemed to take him out of his comfort zone and he never got in a rhythm

                    Who do you like?

I'm a mister fisher fan but id liked to have seen him again against better horses

I suppose his need for good ground in a wet winter has stopped that

I also get the feeling hell always find one or two to good at the highest level unless he can find a few lbs of improvement

I suppose they’ll find out more about his well being over the next few days but I did hear a rumour he was reportedly lame at home about a month ago so it may be an ongoing issue and was aggravated today??

                      • Been sat on Fakir D’Oudairies 20/1 for this for ages, and 50/1 for the QMCC after his defeat to Notebook. Had a strong feeling he’d be the forgotten horse this season but had totally given up hope; a nice surprise! Despite the shorter price I hope he comes here

He’s the one I like as well, big run if ground suits imo

                          • There is HOPE for Fakir D’Oudairies!!!

I thought my Ryanair post (ranting how I think he should come here) and hard earned credits placed on him earlier on in the season where down the bin after his last two runs, but he's jumped back and given me some hope

The Ryanair trip on the new course will suit, come on fakirrrr

                            • Is there some bad news pending for Samcro?

Only available to lay at 999/1

                              Comment

                              • I might go back in on Samcro for a third time. Allaho is favourite and almost a quarter of the price Samcro is. This is Allaho who is habitually turned over when under pressure, as opposed to Samcro who won the Marsh last season and you can be certain this is his best trip.

Samcro just needs to go there fresh like last season. Every race before March is irrelevant as it was last year. At 18/1 I think he is the best value horse across all of the markets.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.
