Really depends how much he improves from 6 to 7

Nico admits he didnt give him his best ride in the marsh where he was a creditable 4th to 3 much more experienced battle hardened horses

He has a few lbs to find but its not unthinkable

Id rather back him than imperial aura at the prices of the English horses, can't see his price at all. He's beaten Windsor avenue and itchy feet i.e absolutely nothing and looks very short.

        • Blimey, i seem to have kicked off a bit of debate with my fancying Mr F for this race.
i would be very careful dismissing this one so readily. He acts at Cheltenham, and if he gets decent ground he will be a big player, i really think that. He was given a self admitted bad ride in the marsh, which actually was a pretty good run considering. I expect him to be ridden differently this time.
It will be a very competitive race by the looks of it and not short of quality, but his current price for me is still value.
As for finding , hes improved this season in my opinion, and could have more to come.

          • I used to be huge on the dogs. I lost count of the number of dogs that could do the times in a solo trial but not in a race. If we had Ryanair time trial style I would put everything I had on this fella. His main problem is other horses which for a race horse is a trifle unfortunate. If the race looks like cutting up he is a huge player. If it’s an above average sized field the jockey will have some big decisions to make. He could take a wide trip but I wouldn’t rule out a silver streak type scenario, and if it worked the others are in trouble imo could be shades of Uxi.

            • I really want Mister Fisher to put in an impressive performance on Saturday and ideally win. He is my potential biggest single win at this year’s festival. As a result of bad admin I’ve ended up with a load of roll ups & TWAR on him and if he wins I’m looking around a 170 point return. I think he’s competing for third place in the Ryanair along with Imperial Aura. I think Grade 2 is his ceiling unless he’s fortunate to be involved in a grade 1 that’s cut up and the Ryanair looks competitive this year. If I owned him I’d try him in this festivals Champion Chase instead of the Ryanair. He has the pace for 2 mile and surely is better than most of the others in the QMCC market. He has a good cruising speed when he settles but rarely settles quickly and is on and off the bridle so I’d run him choke out over 2 mile and serve it up to CPS

Matt Brocklebank takes an early look at the 2021 Ryanair Chase and settles on a 10/1 fancy who has previous in the Cheltenham Festival contest.

                • Have finally added Imperial Aura for the Ryanair. One of the most improved chasers in training based on this season and a quite brilliant jumper. I think if he wins as I expect him to at the weekend he'll go into clear fav for this race. Connections must be half tempted to go for the GC but I think they'll wait until 2022.

He even mentions Angels Breath at 25/1 as a possibility when that one is OFS. Where do they get these idiots from.

                    • I watched a podcast yesterday and one of the fella's made a point about the Ryanair.

He actually though that MIN, Allaho and Melon would run in it.
I don't think this will happen myself.

But he made a point about them all wanting to get on with it, and at their best when they are forward going.
This can't really be an ideal situation for a yard and it's connections.
Which means IMO, it's less likely they all run in it.
It may also explain the specific tactics employed by Allaho in the Savills, as Townend seemed to be at pains to hold Allaho up off the pace.
Clearly wanting to see if they can ride him this way.

Personally think Allaho has to go Ryanair now. Held up to get trip last time, didn't work, didn't stay well enough to be considered for a GC plus APT will definitely go GC now so those 2 are naturally split for Cheveley Park. Melon on the other hand looks nailed on for the GC to me. Ran great in the Saville and he'll set the GC up lovely for ABP. They could have a 1-2 !

I don't think Melon has to 'get on with it' myself. I think he'd happily track the pace, pick them up, THEN decide he doesn't want it and get headed

His jumping would be the issue, as he'd likely jump to the front.
I've been thinking of a NRNB on the Champion Chase for him actually, just in case Chacun don't make it.
