Allaho needs to go from the front or be prominent at that trip not sure why he was held 6L off the pace.

The mist allowed him to have a racecourse gallop to get fitness and willie not be pulled in by the stewards for a non trier as they couldn't see anything

No surprise meeting abandoned after willie gets the run he needed before Christmas into a few of his big guns

If you get what I mean in that riddle
        Haha yeah, I get it.

Looks like the bookies do to.

I feel Min is being under estimated (again) though.

However, I'm on 'em both so I don't care right now

Min is one of those horses that seems to divide opinion.

He's been nitching up G1 wins, but every time he does you can knock the form.

Ryanair, just holding on beating Saint Calvados
Today, pulling out all the stops to beat Tornado Flyer

I'm a bit fan nowadays, but I can see why people will be able to say they don't fancy him in March.

I must say I'm surprised Imperial Aura is still favourite in some places, I know which of the two I'd be backing!
Was thinking that Kev, Aura should be a few points higher than Min IMO. I just love Min, i know hes not everyones favourite but i back him every time, a cliff horse for me

Me neither Kev, about to update my diary but took the Min special today so they both pay the same for me. Let them do battle

To be fair he's out to 16/1 - he shouldn't ever have been any shorter than that really given he was 10/1 and so was Min for most of the summer.

16/1 is tempting but I’d like to know he’s ok and see an entry soon.

Surely price won’t go anywhere though?

Still think this is his best race, lead from the front, potentially use what stamina he has to get them all at it. He does stay 3m just not as well as the top staying chasers.

              • It's nice to see the bookies push out a horse for a change and I think the 16s for Allaho is a decent price as I personally would ignore today's run. I would back him if I wasn't already on.
Min is now the right price and should be favourite imo but he's just a horse who I've never taken to although I've backed him enough times! Saint Calvodos could possible have beaten him this year if he had jumped the last cleanly imo and I've backed him as this will be his target and he could still be improving as 2 years younger than Min. I think he is better than the yard's other stable star, Simply The Betts, who some had high hopes for in this race but I'm hoping he keeps on disappointing until he turns up at Cheltenham in the Ultima and not the Ryanair.
The 2 others I have backed are Samcro and Riders Onthestorm. I was disappointed Samcro was a NR today as wanted to see him disappoint again for his price to go out as I think there's only 1 race they really want to win with him this year and it will be this one. Riders really impressed me last year and it was still too early when he fell in this last year.

Might not be a horse you've taken to but 8/1 is an instant bet. It comes down to price. He'll be 3/1 on the day.

I will always remember being on course for hsi Supreme, and having Min at a big price I was queuing to get Altior as I thought he was the biggest danger. As I'm get to the bookie Min gets pushed out to 3/1 and I thought "NONSENSE! HAVING SOME OF THAT!"

I was in a box and kept having to explain to my clients who were congratulating me on my smart cover strategy that I had, in fact, not placed the bet

Yeah, just my opinion. It's only an instant bet if you fancy him. I didn't take the bigger prices over the summer or attempt any roll ups on Min so not really going to want to take the 8s and lower now. I'm happy for Min and Imperial Aura to make the market for the horses I do fancy.

                      • According to his Jockey, Allaho made 2 race ending mistakes on his way round. Better luck next time hopefully. Maybe better ground will suit

He was never put in the race in the first place to have even made a race ending mistake haha

Difficult to see through the murk, but he started 2nd last and stayed there, gave enough ground away early on to look like a typical Irish Beginners Chase non-trier, compared to his normal run style, which he probably sacrificed leasing so Min could.

Easy to hide a non trier when the stewards can't see anything

you don't ride a front running 3 miler stepping down in trip out the back if you are trying, unless the pace completely collapses the horse has no chance of making up the ground

                              • Weird one because Davy Mullins is usually a good lad to get a horse out in the front and pop away. Unless he was instructed to try something new. Horse never looked right thoug, I'd half feared he'd gone wrong as the fog was so bad and he dropped like a stone out the back.
