They are a couple of unlikely 'ifs' in there Lobos and I'd rather have Galvin to beat one of those than Imperial Aura beating Samcro, Melon, Min and Allaho.

I think it was more the relative chances of each horse winning in their respective races rather than against each other. Galvin is 6s and we are still guessing at who he will face in the NH Chase whereas AI at the same price faces Min, Allaho, Samcro to name a few who will have the Ryanair already as their main aim.

          YH,
I have amended my post. Misunderstanding of the point so im taking it on the chin and agree that from a betting point of view Galvin is indeed better value.

          • IA, Looked really good today. But 6-8/1 antepost for what at the moment looks a competitive Ryanair chase.

            No, thank you.

I think Kim Bailey looks like he is reemerging with some very nice horses.
Although I hate him for what he did and said during Vinndication's early career.
The whole "He'll not be going to Cheltenham farce", then he went.

And he'll also cement himself in my mind as a poor judge "with this horse" if he runs Vinndication in the King George, and not Imperial Aura.
He has one horse in his stable capable of running well in the KG and it's not Vinndication.

Vinndication is a current best priced 40-1, and if Imperial Aura was supplemented he'd be 12-1 best price at a guess.

If he doesn't run Vindication next weekend I'll be joining you in that camp Q

Yep, the Ladbroke is much more suitable.
He can redeem himself. a little.

                    • 'Backed Master Tommytucker for this ew @ 28/1 PP. Interesting to see how the handicapper reacts to the Haydock rout on saturday. I would hazard 155 at least and possibly nearer to 160.

Given whose still to come out (likes of Min, Allaho) and others to run again (Samcro, A Plus Tard, likes of Defi, Simply the Betts, Fakir etc etc) it just looks too short for me?

He’s a contender without a shadow of a doubt but I couldn’t be having him at single figures at the moment.

How will the bookies price this up when Min and Allaho come out and win? 4/1 co-favourites?!

The thing is they are unlikely to push him out in price unless he bombs on his prep run. He does look a real improver. Super jumper as well and we know he loves Cheltenham. Plus, a big factor is he is definitely targeting this race. Yes the price is shortish but there's not a lot to dislike.

Prices like this are the reason ante post punting gets such a bad rep and people think it's too hard.

People definitely have bigger prices but you're having to take them before seeing them do what they do...

You'd need to be absolutely blown away to commit to IA at that price this far out (given he's the same price as Min and achieved much less to-date) but....in the horses defense though, that's as good a jumper as is around at the moment. Bold, aggressive, quick from A to B and fast away at every fence.

I really like the horse now, but if I was having 1 bet, or picking my most likely winner, neither would be Imperial Aura and therefore I think he's "too short" too...

                            • Imperial Aura now up to 163. Just 6lbs behind last season's winner Min.

Still seems mad to me that Imperial Aura is as short as 5's, when you can back Min and Allaho @ 10/1.
