Whilst the reigning champion, and clear best horse of the trio, is in the same stable and still double figures

I'm just kidding, they're all solid bets. I like all 3 - I think Melon is the only one I've backed in a single so far (and that was a roll up!)
I've definitely backed Allaho in some doubles though with Envoi Allen from quite early on....

So I could beat myself with the same stick, as Min sets the standard really?

And is slow on the uptake and indecisive.

Other than that he's a really promising trainer
Was talking about this type of gag the other day which I use a lot. Don't know if it existed before but I definitely got it from Fawlty Towers in the Basil the rat episode where the health inspector lists everything that is non compliant with the hotel, when he finally stops Basil asks 'besides that everything ok?'

Did the same myself re Allaho. Think he is made for this race. Him and Samcro are my play. Think Melon might be chanced in the GC on decent ground....... he'll finish 2nd again though .

        • I’ve personally loved min his whole career, but he won’t be getting any better now, melons a year younger with only 4 Chase starts to his name so has the potential to improve, likewise Allaho with only 3 Chase starts has plenty of room for improvement, Min definitely can’t be ignored though and as soon as he proves his well-being you won’t be getting double figure prices like you currently can

Personally I don't think Melon will go GC. The owners have the current champ who is hard to knock third time around as well. They had an extremely successful festival this year with the small number of entries they had and whilst they had 2 runners in the supreme - surely they will spread their chances especially with them both being trained by Willie.

I think Melon in the Ryanair has an excellent chance and like Min this year could finally get the win after going so close at the previous few festivals.

            • Interesting that HDB said after Kettle won the Arkle that it was a straight choice between that race and the Marsh. First I'd heard that. Perhaps the Ryanair could be an option should she not be up to winning the Champion Chase?

              • It wasn't a clear choice really as they went through the 5-Day Entries still in the Novice Handicap Chase, and only pulled out of that on the Sunday 48-hour decs.

Most top trainers leave them in everything until the last minute. The fact he said it was a straight choice between the two suggests the Novice Handicap was not really on their radar.

                    • Allaho cut by PP/Betfair today (they were stand out 12/1), I wonder if the impending stable tour is due out shortly. I'll be keeping an eye on other market prices over the next day or so.

                      • I was topping up on a Allaho/Abacadbras double all summer but I've kinda gone cold on him recently. Real Steel my main play in this now especially after Nicholls stable tour

Something has been said somewhere or someone has seen the tour update!

                          • Allaho still 12/1 with Freds so just gone in once more prior to the inevitable market alignment!

This could be the race of the festival.....

Saldier was cut to 20/1 (from 25) yesterday for the Champion Hurdle with them. Coincidence?
